I still cant see my map- currently trying to read a map, which would allow me unlimited zoom, but sadly that map works for BFME 1 and 2, and RotWK, and is said to work for Uprising as well, but i still cant find the map in skirmish, despite trying to do as is being suggested in this post

I am having the exact same problem. Installing maps has worked before (done this loads of times in the past) but now they just don't appear in the skirmish maps section.

On a related subject I am also having the same problem with the Upheaval mod for Red Alert 3. It is in the right place but the uprising units are just not there.

I suspect that these 2 issues are related to the same problem; the game just isn't accepting or even registering any additions or mod changes.

For some reason they removed the registry keys for the Steam install making it so even if you add a "Maps" folder to "C:\Users\*User Name*\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3 Uprising\" the custom maps will not appear in the Skirmish Mode map selection.

Solution to add a custom maps folder and access them in Skirmish Mode for 2024:

  1. Use the Windows Registry Editor to add the missing key.

  2. Type "regedit" into the search box in the start menu, and hit enter.

  3. Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\

  4. Right click on the last Electronic Arts folder and click New > Key

  5. Name the new Key (folder) "Red Alert 3 Uprising" so your registry directory should be:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Electronic Arts\Electronic Arts\Red Alert 3 Uprising\

  6. Right click on the new "Red Alert 3 Uprising" Key and click New > String Value

  7. Change the value name to "installpath" and the value data to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising\"

  8. Right click again on the new "Red Alert 3 Uprising" Key and click New > DWORD (32-bit) value.

  9. Change this value name to "UseLocalUserMaps" and leave the rest the default

After this, any custom map folder (not individual map files) you add to "C:\Users\*User Name*\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3 Uprising\Maps" should appear in the Skirmish Mode map selection

Did you put a map folder in the path it was set to? "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising\"
not in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Uprising\maps\"
if so, use this path to fix it. then all maps is put in a folder named maps inside the redalert 3 uprising game folder..

This worked great in 2024! thank you very muchhh! -- For anyone having issues with Red Alert 3 Uprising maps not showing

After trying to make sure all folders are good.. delete skirmish.ini, tried running as admin.. this works!

Note that mine actually did create a Electronic Arts registery.. but it did it on a different treebranch outside of where this thread said. (wasnt in Wow6432Node)..

I had to create 2x Electronic Arts files (key), then Red Alert 3 Uprising, then followed the rest on this thread :)
