Only streamers get to join the playtest :)))
Thoughts? Surely this is controversial to someone other than me

ya it kinda sucks but at least we will get plenty of content on the new build that they are playing. also i don't think it'll be too much longer before everyone can try EA
I'm outraged! Now I'm going to kick over trash cans, insult squirrels and push over small random children! :1033:

Nah, it's no big deal to me, but I'm not really into playing alphas / betas / play tests anyway. As KoopAttack said above, it'll give us a better glimpse at the game.

I can also understand why Devs may do this from not only a development approach but basic business sense (i.e. keeping a handle on image / PR).

Sounds good.
So we all can at least eyeball it for longer than 2 hrs without sinking money into it. EA most probably isn't far away anyway, guess 1-2 month depending on feedback.

What controversial? I just don't understand that people, looking everywhere, making theories, blaming someone. So what, they give it to streamers, and? They have 2 hours of playtime to refund it if it's bad on release. They don't want money right now.

Will be great to watch how the game plays. Then about 2 weeks later, WE should get EA.

When is the playtest for streamers and how soon after will we get our hands on a playtest or release?

Streamers are good for advertising your game if you a game dev its saving up some money and they report bugs Just i really hope they will not go ape and fully start to bow to the streamers like rockstar did with RDR2 Online:cozycastondeath:

My concern is there going to tailor the game to the top 5%! Make it unplayable to your average Joe.

Literally who cares. They are helping promote the game, we are not, thus we do not provide value currently for the companies current goals. This is normal.
If the games good I understand the dev motive if the game is terrible the streamer will show you and I dont think the Dev understood his motive.

Anyway HutchMF on twitch is a good guy to watch if you are looking for an honest dude to put time into it as he mentioned he going to be playing it today.

I dont want to watch streamers guys, and I find that the first week of a game are the best while people try to figure it out. By releasing it to streamers in advance you take away the fun part of the game for me where everyone is figuring it out at the same time. Now some person who likes watching others play the game already has an advantage and it's not as interesting to me, so I'm not going to buy the game if they charge for early access. There would be no point

Tomorrow videos/streams drop. I am hoping we get to see a lot more of the game, like inventory managements, more of the map and impressions on the gameplay mechanics.

games that does this is always a skip for me, if i watch a streamer play something that looks cool and i want to play it then get told "lol you cant" then yeah im gonna go find something else to play.
