As far as grinding, its a game mechanic, I suspect they are trying to make to add an element of strategy to straight up grinding. There is a period when the grind is slow and agonizing, and then at the end is meager reward. I'm kind of wondering why they make it where you make a ton of money, but nothing really to spend it on. That will change as they progress in developing it I suspect as they balance those kind of aspects.
Clearly I did something wrong....I'm done with my missions and only level 2 for handshake and Banshee :) not that they sell anything I need at level 3
This task system is very rudimentary in this game, BUT it is still a pre alpha so, its hard to judge anything too harshly at this point. It has a lot to be desired and I hope there is more bones to the game going forward. The task system then becomes just another avenue of choice, rather than the main objective. I think games need more variety to be successful long term. Should be a non ending story with tasks falling into the story line and you can choice to do them for rewards or not. Kind of like how Fortnite and other games do it. You can also participate in XYZ instead, as they have talked about other things going on between the factions competitively.
