Gray Zone Warfare

You can build a pretty decent M4 w/ a CQ A1
You can build a pretty decent semi auto M4 w/ a CQ A1. The best CQ I have found thus far was at 75%. With a 16” M4 barrel, an M4 upper, gas tube and rail plus a new stock, rear and forward grip it was at 2.11 MOA. Threw a can on it and it was great. I just did it to see how good I could make it.

Are there M4 lowers in the game?

Sure, the new ‘M4’ is single shot. But 2.11 is much better than I can currently get with the AK 12, 15 and 19s. But now once I switch out my Delta I can run all equipment that is easily obtainable. Helps with my stress about losing gear.

I need to build another faux M4 to see how much it cost.

I built out an AK-12 and AK-19 also but 2.88 MOA was the best I could do at Lvl 2 Gunny and Lvl 1 for the rest. I spent a couple of hours today trying to score an AK-15 since I have a can for it but no luck; I was dropping AI at Narith and some dude from another faction scooped the loot on the way in. And then I dropped a bunch of additional AI and the same dude scooped the loot on the way out.

yooo spare sum love for that gucci AK-74M laying around :)
u may even get lucky to loot a AK-74 buffer tube and slap a MOE stock with butt-pad to finally matchmake that signature east & west styles.

Okay so you can make Chinese Norinco M4 platforms perform nearly as good as those made by Colt ... why not just use the one made by Colt? No in game merchant sales them and the one you usually scavenge from the level 2 enemy comes with 14 inch barrel that has 5.6 ish moa, somehow worse than the AKM and even the AKS-74U. Not to mention no full auto.

It is even written in the description these thing are keep being made because poor people can only afford these poor quality sport AR-15 clone and certainly absolutely not because Norinco can't make one with high quality.

I just did that but have not run it in mission yet. 3.51 MOA, +16% Recoil Control, -6% Arm Stamina Drain, +4% Weapon Handling and -8% Reload Time. I have a Pilad P1X42 on it.

i agree, i was just experimenting and like I said, i am running gear i can easily replace, I have three other M4s basically unfired that I have gotten from quests. I cannot 'easily' replace them. And I cannot buy M4s yet, only Lvl 2 with Gunny.

Not really. Gunny sells two basic M4s and upper and lower receiver at level 1, and you certainly can buy parts from him to assemble a fully functional M4. At level 2 you can purchase suppressor, lower gas block and 16 inch barrel. M4 is actually replaceable and cheaper in late game.

Unless you are talking about those variants come with 18 inch barrel or 20 inch barrel which are actually harder to replace.

I'll have to mess around with buying an M4 and tricking it out and see if I can equal the M4A1s you get as quest items. I think they are 1.76 MOA.

Different question; it looks like parts for the AK 12, 15 and 19 are not in the game yet, is that correct? I do not even see the muzzle devices and the barrel does not show up when you inspect a weapon. I really want to build a baller AK since they are easy to find.

AK-12, 15 and 19 are firearms that are part of Kalashnikov's Ratnik programme so they have their own individual complete set of parts (like ratnik gastube, grip, folding stock etc.) they will be available to you once you level turncoat to its relevant rep level.

AK-12 and 15 have their own individual suppressors as the 5.45 variants. You are also able to use PT-2 and PT-3 stocks with the appropriate adapters on 12,15 and 19. Only thing currently missing from the game at the moment seems to be the suppressor for AK-19, which is the modern 5.56 rival to its western counterpart.

I personally really like how western and eastern platforms are portrayed realistically in-game. M4 and DDMK are obviously more accurate in grouping shots on a target compared to AK series. On the other hand AKs are depicted as a more modular platform to adapt different conflict zones and they pack more of a punch (on both ballistic and acoustic scale) with diverse types of ammunition.

I think the balance between these two rival platforms will be made more apparent in the upcoming 0.3 update. MFG's weapon specialist specifically implied this on stream. He is really an interesting character whose father is an CZ spec-ops operative but ironically he himself hates guns :) as per what he said on the stream this perk has made his work on gear of GZW non-biased and objective. We'll have to wait and see what he is cooking in the upcoming months i guess :D

Maybe I am doing something wrong but when you 'inspect' an AK 12, 15 and 19 the barrel does not show up as a part. So yes, you can play with the furniture and mount different stuff but you cannot really change the 'guts' of those AKs. I got a Russian 7.62 AK can from a quest but for some reason it is not compatible with the AK-15. I guess using an AK quest item (non 12, 15 or 19) as they have more parts available and cans.

That's what I call being efficient, let the enemy do the work and you take the reward.
