Tips For Optimization

Hey everyone,

While we work on optimizing the game further to increase performance for all of our players, there are some quick changes you can make that may help increase your FPS in Gray Zone Warfare:

NVIDIA

NVIDIA Control Panel Settings:

• Open "NVIDIA Control Panel"
  
• Navigate to "Manage 3D Settings"
  
• Select the "Global Settings"
  
• Click on “Restore” in the bottom-right corner of “Global Settings” to reset the settings to default

Then change the following:

• Set "Anisotropic Filtering" to "Application-controlled"
  
• Set "Power Management Mode" to "Maximum Performance"
  
• Set "CUDA - Sysmem Fallback Policy" to "Off"
  
• Set "Texture Filtering - Quality" to "Quality"
  
• Set "Texture Filtering - Anisotropic sample optimizations " to "On"
  
• Set "Texture Filtering - Negative LOD bias" to "Allow"
  
• Set "Texture Filtering - Trilinear optimization " to "On"
  
• Set "Low Latency Mode" to "Off"
  
• Set "Shader Cache Size" to "Unlimited"

Clear DirectX Cache:

• Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog
  
• Type cleanmgr and press Enter
  
• Select your system drive (usually C:)
  
• In the list, check the box for DirectX Shader Cache
  
• Click OK and then Delete Files

Clear NVIDIA Shader Cache:

• Open Nvidia Control Panel
  
• Click on 3D settings in the menu on the left
  
• In Global Settings scroll down to "Shader Cache Size"
  
• Change the value to "Disabled"
  
• Open File Explorer and navigate to: C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache and C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\LocalLow\NVIDIA\DXCache
  
• Delete all files in these folders if they exist in their respective directories
  
• Restart your PC to rebuild the shader cache

Turn Off Instant Replay and Overlay:

• Turn Off Instant Replay and Overlay
  
• Press Alt + Z to open "NVIDIA settings"
  
• Turn off "Instant Replay"
  
• Right-click on the NVIDIA system tray icon and select "NVIDIA GeForce Experience"
  
• Log into your NVIDIA account
  
• Click the "Settings" icon on the top right.
  
• In the "General" tab, turn off "In-game Overlay" and close the app

Fullscreen Optimization:

• Right-click on GZWClientSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe, which can be found in directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gray Zone Warfare\GZW\Binaries\Win64
  
• Select "Properties"
  
• Under the "Compatibility" tab, check "Disable full-screen optimisations"

In-Game Settings:

• Set the game to Fullscreen (not Windowed Fullscreen).
  
• Adjust the following:
  
• "Vertical FOV" to 55
  
• "Frame Rate Limit" to 120
  
• "Quality Presets" to Low

AMD

AMD Adrenalin Settings:

• Right-click your desktop and select AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition
  
• Open the Gaming tab and click on Graphics
  
• Turn on Hyper-RX (lightning symbol)
  
• Disable Anti-Lag
  
• Turn on Super resolution and set to 75
  
• Enable Fluid Motion Frames 2
  
• Enable Radeon boost and set Maximum Resolution Change to 50.0
  
• Once in game, ensure FSR is enabled, and resolution is turned down to one below your maximum resolution

Fullscreen Optimization:

• Right-click on GZWClientSteam-Win64-Shipping.exe, which can be found in directory C:\ProgramFiles (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Gray Zone Warfare\GZW\Binaries\Win64
  
• Select "Properties"
  
• Under the "Compatibility" tab, check "Disable full-screen optimisations"

In-game Settings:

• Set the game to Fullscreen (not Windowed Fullscreen).
  
• Adjust the following:
  
• "Vertical FOV" to 55
  
• "Frame Rate Limit" to 120
  
• "Quality Presets" to Low

Increase quality settings as your system capability allows while watching the changes on the FPS counter in the top-right corner of your game screen to find the best combination for your hardware.

If you encounter any issues, bugs, or crashes while playing the game, we kindly request that you report them to our Customer Care service via this link: https://support.madfingergames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

If possible, please attach a screenshot or a recording, and the dxdiag file which will allow us to see details about your PC specifications. To generate a dxdiag report, open the Start menu, type "dxdiag" and press Enter. When the diagnostic is finished, click "Save All Information..." and attach the text file to the bug report.
