Lost Loot, Endless Search: A Frustration with Body Recovery in GZW

The most dangerous enemy in the game Gray Zone Warfare is not the AI, nor the sudden game crashes—it’s the rocks and branches on the ground. Here’s what happened: one time, I was happily bringing my loot back to base. I was already running out of time to make it back before sunset, but luckily, I still had my night vision goggles.

I really admire this recent update. I love the atmosphere it creates, and I give it a 10/10. However, could the developers please improve the roads? I don’t mind being scratched by branches or tripping over rocks, but falling from a height and losing all my loot into a deep ravine? That’s a problem.

No worries, I thought—I’ll just buy another night vision goggle and go search for my body. But here’s the thing: this game doesn’t show where your corpse is. Searching for a body in the pitch-black night is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I’ve already spent two hours looking, and as I’m writing this post, I’m still looking.

I only have one small request: in the next update, could you add a feature to show the location of your body?

i feel your pain, i usualy stop looking for body in 10 minutes, otherwise it is not worth the time and it is faster to farm a new set of gear

I wish they ping where your body is. i lost some gear in similar situation where i die and don't know where i am in the map

bro dont get attached to ur gear/loot, yes ravine is dangerous 1 time I got slip and die just ignore it

I think they should go with an insurance system. Especially for PVE. Will not hurt anyone, can still cost you a lot but will definitly return your stuff which is great when the game loses connection or crashes for people.

yesterday i died, i came back, all the players saw my body except me.... impossible to loot myself even i had the good info by the other players .... so maybe you were on the right place but the game trolled you

I do understand that the sense of gain or loss in this game isn’t supposed to be that important. However, with this update, the game’s environment has made every piece of equipment/Weapon have durability. So, when I excitedly manage to loot some gear, I have to worry about keeping it from breaking, while also overcoming various bugs. And now, on top of that, I have to watch my step carefully.

Honestly, I’d rather be killed by an enemy than end up like this—fumbling around like a fool.
