Try going through both the Optimization and Crashing sticky posts. Something in there may clear some config that was holding back performance.
Also please see this post about clearing out shaders for nvidia GPUs, it seemed to help for one person https://steamcommunity.com/app/2479810/discussions/0/4626981323674868732/#c4626981579416148439 There's also a shader cache reset option at the bottom of the in game graphics menu, may also be worth doing that after clearing out the other caches and get a full rebuild. It will drop performance in the short term as they recompile, but may help fix performance long term.
SET FRAME LIMIT TO 60FPS NOT UNLIMITED. UNLIMTED SEEMS TO MAKE THE GAME NOT QUITE UNDERSTAND WERE THE FRAMES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE,SINCE I SET FRAME LIMIT TO 60FPS NOT UNLIMTED IVE HAD A STEADY 60FPS,AN FAR BETTER GAME PERFORMANCE
ITS EARLY ACCESS DONT BOTHER WITH TRYING TO HIT 100 PLUS FPS IT JUST SEEMS TO GIVE PERFORMANCE ISSUES NOT MATTER HOW POWERFULL URE PC IS,STICK WITH 60FPS IT RUNS WELL LOOKS GOOD BE HAPPY WITH THAT TILL BETTER OPTIMISATION COMES OUT
This helped a little bit but it is still running really poorly. Worse since the update even.
Frame generation is key i think but it shouldnt be necessary.
Any other suggestions/tips? Otherwise imma have to wait till its optimised a hell of a lot more.
Unfortuntely I don't have an Intel CPU to test. Are you able to run something like hwinfo64 while playing the game for a little bit and check your max CPU core temps, max/average boost clocks, and max CPU package power? https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ I have a weird hunch that maybe your CPU is being power limited, but it's a complete shot in the dark. Intel CPUs are notorius for eating power with AVX2 workloads like in GZW to keep up in performance, and if there is some restriction you may be stuck around 125W base clocks.
You can also do something similar on the GPU side. Install the nvidia app (remove geforce experience if needed) and enable the in-game overlay with advanced statistics to check the power and utilization % of your GPU (I imagine it would be way below what a 3090 should pull).
If you already followed the other suggestions in the sticky posts, there's also a discord tech support channel for GZW. Someone there may be able to pinpoint something or have an Intel CPU to test against GZW discord[discord.com], or you can try opening a ticket with MFG support and they may be able to help further. https://support.madfingergames.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Finally, game patch/updates or GPU driver changes will force shaders to need to recompile and you'll see temporary lower performance again. It's just how shaders and unreal engine work.
What motherboard are you using, and which slot do you have the M2 SSD plugged into on it?
You can also run GPU-Z and see what Bus Interface it has listed https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
ASUS® ROG RAMPAGE VI EXTREME ENCORE
M2 slot is is second one, primary M2 is OS.
BUS 101
I dont really see my hardware being the issue when everything else runs with no issues at all really, but I do appreciate the help and suggestions for sure, i work in IT myself and this build is pretty beefy. I dont really feel like going down any OC route for the sake of just this game etc
Ohhhhh 10900X, you're on X299, pretty rare. Yea obviously I/O isn't an issue. Sorry you're having trouble, both my 4070s and 1080 systems are fine. Seems like a ton of issues with 30-series though.
Thats ok.
I have just managed to fiddle about with some nvidia control panel settings again and i have also turned off nvidia reflex which has suddenly gotten me to run at 60-80fps with a few dips.
Very strange! everything is smeared in vaseline playing dlss at performance but at least its a bit more stable now.
Not sure how your CPU compares against mine (5800x3D) but other than that we have very similar spec as i have the 3090. 64GB Ram. So unless our cpu are massively different you should be able to get similar performance.
Im able to run at 4K locked to 60 (and its smooth) with a mix of high and medium settings. GI is turned up all the way now.
I also use DLSS set to balanced.
Hope that helps.
Im keen to understand what the major difference is here as well considering i have had to lock it all down to low, DLSS performance and 3d resolution at the lowest possible.
unless there is a resolution support issue i cant understand how your able to run at 4k and im at a technically lower res.
Looking at your cpu clock speeds and comparing it to mine which is running at the same or bit bit above, and also mine having 2 more cores, i wouldnt imagine it being an issue related to the CPU.

and get 70-90 fps (never <70).
