What got me interested in this game to begin with was a dev blog a while back about their PvP plans for the game.
There's going to be FOBs around the map that can be captured and held by factions. At any given time an enemy faction can raid these enemy held FOBs and take them from other factions. There's also going to be FOB upgrades, aside from the player's updgrades, but upgrades to FOBs that factions can do as a whole. This is just my opinion, but I do think there's going to be a mechanic for base maintenance where players will have to go out and loot items for FOBs.
To add, there's going to be dynamic faction tasks where factions fight against each other to complete. Going to be fun as hell and can't wait for these features.
I believe the map we have now is only ~25% of the full map and the main bases we have now will changed FOBs that can be captured by other factions and main bases will remain on the border of the map.
I didn't see these mechanics in their roadmap, hopping they didn't turn away from this, but they did talk about these being in the game in a very early dev blog.
IM CHEATING ON ARMA DAMN IT
