Gray Zone Warfare

How long does the enemy search for you in PVE?
Does anyone know how long it is before the enemy stops searching for you for? I got killed then respawned, returned to near my death location; and hide in foliage. It was like I was standing out in the open butt naked waiting to be deliberately spotted. Suddenly Delta Force Frodo and three other hobbits show up telling me about all the friendly things they want to do to me. I run away and go hide in a toilet two streets over. Suddenly Delta Force Frodo and the three amigos track me down like I have a neon sign above my head saying "He is right here" and I die a second time before I have a chance to get back to my dead body and reclaim my gear.

If I die and go back to find my body, they are never aggroed on me. You must have made noise when getting back into the area and they heard you + you made noise repositioning so they never lost track of you. If you use CTRL and sneak around and crouch correctly, you can lose their tracking status and they will start saying voice lines like "where are you?" and "I know you're here".

Hi Cant. Appreciate the comment. I was ctrl+c sneaky to start with and I was sitting still in the foliage. Then when I moved to the toilet I was deadly quiet and had not moved for a few minutes - I heard "I know you're here" and where are you? next minute three guys appeared out of no where

Or they broken right now which is the stronger possibility. Ive approached many AI from close up all the way out from 400m sniping and their aggro range is ridiculous. I do know that every time they killed me they would stop and just stand around when I ran back. They would only engage again if I shot at them again.

I think they knew my ex wife and were chasing the next alimony check past due

HI Dugi.. Thanks for your reply. It is interesting how it is set up. I only had a knife on me (my bad I know) and was trying to be quieter than a church mouse but they just narrowed in on me like flies to sh**t

Visually they'll aggro to you even through foliage, and auditory aggro radius seems to be 15-20 yards roughly speaking (if they don't have line of sight on you). If you break line of sight from them AND leave the immediate area of that cover you hid behind, they'll begin a potential 2 step check. First step is they'll start "snooping" the area, looking for you by walking around & quipping. If they walk within a certain radius of you (I have yet to determine, but it's pretty close, maybe 5-10 yards) and don't directly see you for a set period of time, they'll begin the 2nd step which is "hunt". In this stage they'll pursue your current position as if they knew where you were all along; peeking open lines of sight or opening doors to reach you. I abused this to get through my 20 kill quests by baiting them into doorways of buildings that had no window line of sight for them to check me on.

Hi OJz. Thanks for your reply - very informative and good to know. I was in Pha Lang - got initially killed in the alley north of the water tower. Spawned back and creep to the outer wall northwest on the water tower. When spotted I sprinted over to the place where you find the dead clerk and "hid" in the room just behind him. And waited..... if in doing what you described above then they might have heard me try to close a door and so they aggro'd in on me
Thanks guys
