Consistent crashes to desktop
Hi all. Apologies if this has been addressed somewhere that I missed but I am tearing my hair out trying to fix this. When I first bought the game it would boot up and let me get a few minutes into a mission and then crash pretty consistently. As of yesterday it no longer gets past the splash screen before crashing. I am not super computer literate so I have only tried restarting PC, restarting Steam, verifying integrity, and re-installing, all with no improvement.

I would rather not refund the game as it seems like it could be a solid game in the future so I am hoping to at least find some confirmation that it's not just me and its being worked on and I will just put in on the back burner until fixed.

I am running a laptop with i9 2.2 GHz processor, 23GB RAM, and Geforce RTX 4080 if that is helpful. I appreciate any info anyone can provide.

I have a suspicion that the DLSS is not working completely. Using TSR I had no crashes but with DLSS on I had a couple of crashes/CTDs.

Not saying it is an issue trying to play on a laptop but Ive been a laptop gamer for quite a few years so I'd be surprised if that was the case. I can play all other high requirements games with no issues.

Kaoz, any idea if there is a way to access video options outside of the game since I can't get past the splash screen?

I just bought the game, got the super pack and can't even get it to load into the mission. Desktop, pretty high end stuff. Graphics drivers are all updated. This is Annoying.

While I appreciate the "pretty high end." What exactly are the system specs? Several issues around newest gen Intel CPU's and other things. So giving details would allow us to find out if there is a fix for your problem.

Thank you for the response. It was top of the line a few years ago but still runs everything else I've ever thrown at it at max res on a 36" monitor. i9-7900x. Watercooled. 8 sticks of DDR4-3600Mhz ram 128Gb. RTX 2080TI. What else would you like to know?
to OP,

so I assume you dont get to the place where you can select warfare or joint operations ?

if you can then go into settings before you deploy and try altering your settings ?

if not then I beleive that the config file is located at
AppData\Local\GZW\Saved\Config\WindowsClient\GameUserSettings.ini

to get there you can go to start / run
then type
%appdata%
in the resulting explorer window that opens go back one folder from the roaming profile to the local one then look for GZW, the saved, then config

you can alter your resolution and many other settings in there, something may have gotten corrupted. you could even take a copy of the file and delete it see if the game will create a default fresh one for you in case some setting you applied is causing it or it became corrupted. this file possibly wasnt removed on a total reinstall ?
