Friend lost all the progress due to "no-had" issue
This thread is for the dev team, so steps to reproduce:
1. In the basecamp he was trying to "Safely end deployment" but game became unresponsigve
2. Sooo, he alt+F4 from the game

That's basically it, as I understand if you close the game or game crashes any time during data synchronization - your account data becomes corrupted.
Please implement either "buffer" save data - when data is pulled from the player into temp table / cache and after that after integrity validation becomes synchronized.

Or if you are using relational database - just create duplicate table for user data as temp solution (basically autosave 2) and if one autosave corrupts - use 2nd

Yeah it's absolutely mind boggling how something as simple and as important as verifying the integrity of the character profile before saving wasn't implement on the servers from the get go. Client crashing shouldn't ever be able to cause the server side data to become corrupted. It would have saved all the headless, containerless, lost progress etc. issues that stem from the profile data getting more or less corrupted.
I guess i got reaaaally freaking lucky when i got the dreaded "Savestate sync failed" error after rebooting post-crash... Did loose my gear, but not the head and container.
