one way of fixing the problem i could see that might upset the least ammount of players is disabling combat/PVP within an certain area around the landing zone for example.
making helicopters automatically mow down players from other factions as some people suggested is defenitely not an option, not everyone around the landing zone is camping there to kill you on purpose after all, some of the players from other factions might just be waiting for thair own helicopter exfil there too.
the fix i liked the most was adding ropes to the heli, so you can jump out at any time of the flight.
or just add some LZs in between.
There should be real time info on those hot lz's then. If your people get killed left and right in an LZ, then it would be a no fly zone for quite some time until those hostiles are cleared.
One way to circumvent this would be to randomize the landing zones a bit. So that you don't really know exactly where the heli is going to land.
I still will wish with all my might for dedicated player pilot roles! But highly doubt it’ll happen.
Ya only in ARMA will that be a thing I guess.
For now I wish the pilot can warn of hostile factions. Like "spotted hostiles NW" so you know if enemy faction players are really close to the lz and in what direction. Then again you will probably be wiped the second you step off.
For now in PvP just don't land at closest LZ's and walk there
I have another solution. Cars. And maybe boats. If some of the major rivers were deeper, boats would be a very viable means of transportation. Cars are a no brainer on operations so I think it's pretty wild that these groups use absolutely zero cars for insertion.
But better comms would be very nice. Or even players who would talk.
