Devs have already ackowledged this and have announced that if it's abuse become too "mainstream", if you will, then they will enforce different "entities", if you will, between the two servers, so inventories would become non-shareable.
Most people on PVE are there because they're tired of the rampant bullcrap that is teamkilling and LZ camping. If it weren't for that, it seems quite of bit of PVE players would gladly switch back permanently. Then there are people like me who actually want to enjoy the game. I suck at most shooters so PVP would mean dying every time I land; as a result, I play PVE because it rules out my day being constantly ruined by gigachads that have nothing better to do than to play a game 14 hours a day.
Nobody is forcing you to engage in PvP if you don't want to, but that does mean you have to use your noggin to try and survive.
That's the beauty of PvEvP, is that both PvE and PvP are blended in and it's all on you to simply survive or hunt.
I bet most people who are playing this game are grinding thinking they're going to have a good PvP experience later on.
Oh boy are they in for a sad surprise.
The PvE players are tourists, they're here now, they'll be gone after the first wipe ~6 months. They'll move on to a different game. Without forcing PvEvP (with solid adrenaline pumping PvP) this game is for tourists and will be dead after the first wipe - just like any other PvE shooter.
Granted.. but at this point i'd just stick with Tarkov tbh.
It is the better game (at least for now) horrible business model or not..
This game's whole point is the very 'less hardcore nature' you guys dislike imo.
to my understanding this game is mainly a pve game with a side of pvp
the starter towns are to learn/get used to the game, which again, is focused on pve
they are also not safe from pvp, its just pointless to because the players running around dont know whats going on and their loot is going to be worthless, easier kills than bots
and i cant remember how many starter tasks there were, but if you understand how to walk forward and kill things before they kill you then you complete them all faster than your brain can form memories of them
so if you get done with them, good job, you know exactly where players are, at their own starter town, go do pvp, or you go to hunters paradise or ybl, early tasks that always have pvp now
I'm waiting for GZ to expand the loot pool by.. a LOT.. add more things too do and a lot more guns and i am going to have fun.
If cheaters get too egregious i just retreat in PvE.
As far as this situation is concerned i'll maintain that if the community deems it necessary progression tracks should be separate, won't oppose it.
You obviously never played Rust or DayZ on a 3rd party PVE server. Those players do IN FACT, keep coming back if the game is good enough; when most people of these games leave a server it's either A) because the server got discontinued, B) a change in the moderators that makes things become toxic, or C) a change in the server mod files that makes the grind unreasonable. Keep in mind with these games, the servers typically wipe anywhere from 2 weeks to every 3 months, and they have NO questing, and only sense of progression comes from expanding the base.
If these "tourist players" leave after the first wipe, it's them not really enjoying the game to begin with. I would gladly, as a "tourist" PVE main, keep coming back.
Yeah but your words don’t impact me in a negative way. I’m absolutely a casual player. If the game keeps good systems in place and modders don’t take over the world I’ll easily invest more time in PvP with some friends but this isn’t a game I try hard in. Anyone knows the game success revolves around accessibility and as a former try hard CSGO and fighting game player I also know it revolves around high skill ceilings first and foremost. But then if it’s done correctly it travels down to a much larger pool of casuals. Every good competitive game is like that.
If you are so confident that the PvE will be abandoned due to tourists then you should be happy as that would just have them remove the mode and focus on others. I definitely don’t see any chance of that personally. And regarding your “bots” comment I actually am really excited for the day Ai takes over most need for human vs human online multiplayer as the ai will not only be superior, will also be able to adjust their level of competition on an individual basis based on each players unique abilities and perspective.
also if they would do that they could also make PvE more player friendly, like marking players of other factions on the map or increasing the amount of max. Helis/Faction-
easy solution, i dont know why PvE and PvP fans are fighting like some childs in here lmao.
