akm vs m4
what do you all prefer (talking about early game)?
ease of finding and replenishing mags on the go of akm? or ability to put magnified optics of m4?

AKM will struggle to hit the target from 20M away. M4 only reliably kills sh*t in the face.

Game is trash.

M4 with better ammo then grab an ak for if I run out of ammo.

AKM for early start and cheap build if I have to recover my body. M4 otherwise.

Most AKM's found in the starting areas are absolute trash, you literally pick them up off of people who don't even own shoes. A bit of parts investment and they can be pretty decent due to the higher caliber rounds piercing body armor more consistently.

AKM, first the regular one and then the modified one from the crates.

Both rifles are easy to use but I often find myself running around the map for long times unless I'm focusing on a specific task or loot area.

And I quickly chew through 4-5 magazines, which makes being able to resupply from enemies very useful.

Other than that the M870 shotgun is worth using around the starting town as well, though buckshot required very close range headshots to work, slugs are much better if your aim is on point and the server isn't dying.

Picked up an AKM in the lumberyard and been using it eversince. I keep it fully automatic and fire it in 3 shot bursts, two bursts is normally a downed target. Given how abundant the ammo is, it's a relatively "Pays for itself." weapon lol.

I agree with AK at the start so you can just loot ak ammo off of NPCS since its OP right now. The devs need to reduce how much ammo we can get off of dead NPC down to like 10 or 15 rounds. Its too easy right now. I found at the start the AK-74N is a lazer beamy gun, but coming across its ammo can be difficult.

Once you unlock M855 Green TIP Armor piercing rounds its M4 time baby!

M4. AKM (all variations) and SKS seems to have reduced damage. It will be fine in the starting village cause you literally fight hobos without any armor, but against decently armed and armored enemies in Fort Narith or just same hobos but with armor in YBL-1/Lagoon/Paradise/Sawmill it will struggle to kill them even in the head. So better use M4 or AK-74. Bots in Fort use the AR-15 carbine with M855 rounds and variants of AK-74 usually with PP rounds, so you can farm the ammo. As for AKM/AKMN/AKMS/SKS forget about it until you unlock any good ammo for it.

I am still in the "starting town". I always go with AKM, no point using M4 on these guys. But a decent one, like one of the stronger AIs in Marketplace drops a fairly good one (all black) thats very accurate. If not able to get it, atleast one thats "complete", ignore the ones without the receiver cover/dust guard.

Or if you get really lucky, the little checkpoint post near (Mithras) Bravo 2 LZ has better enemies, they drop good decked out M4s and AKM that allows optics.
