in 2017 i bought tarkov, A open world looter shooter, it was promised a massive map, with survival and base building aspects. I am still waiting for the game i bought.

In 7 years they have accomplished roughly 10% of the game they sold, most scummy money grab ive ever seen
Mr.Fish May 3, 2024 @ 11:44am
and tarkov has been in development now for 12 years so doesn't really say alot, streets was shown when game was in alpha then took 8 years to implement, it took them years to add stuff thats in this game from launch and this game is an actual open world, still waiting for that.

Hopefully they're not trying to catch Tarkov, because that game is running in the wrong direction. Gray Zone's huge open world map and three way faction war has more potential than Tarkov ever did.

unless Tarkov stops development for the next 6 years, this game is never going to catch up

yeah I rather pay the overpriced fee of a $250 for a game that works, this game isn't even 5% of what Tarkov is

It's just an empty shell, soooo much work has to get into it, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just a well timed quick money-grab release during the Tarkov dlc controversy

in which a lot of suckers believing "they actually escaped Tarkov"

bahaha, no, you'll be running back to Tarkov, this game probably will be dead in a few months

How? From what I've seen this game is doing what Tarkov has been trying to do for 12+ years, Tarkov wishes to eventually reach the state GZW is currently in and it probably never will.

That would be a mistake if they went that route, extraction-style gameplay is the charm of Tarkov.

What they could improve on is the faction-style gameplay, because currently it doesn't matter what PMC you are, or your faction, there's no karma system.

like tarkov was on release? calling another game a money grab whilst defending tarkov is hilarious, tarkov was a money grab and a means to develop russia2028

they also needed to learn how to make a functioning game in unity so you paid $50-$250 to be a beta tester/project funder for 10 years, for a singleplayer rpg that still doesn't exist haha.

bsg are clowns and were always bait and switchers, nikita praises hackers as a means to make you pay more and teaches others that beta can be used as an excuse for broken games/poor development.

Yes, just like Tarkov was on release. But Tarkov already had 12 years of development.

By the time this game has 5 years of development, Tarkov will be even more developed. It's never going to catch up. Unless they somehow are able to fulfill a niche that Tarkov hasn't.

It's very behind, and it's an empty shell. I'm all for a worthy competitor so the Tarkov devs put in more sweat into making their game even better. Competition is good, but I don't believe this will even be a worth competitor, it will most likely be dead in the near future.

You can pay $100 for every Tarkov clone on release (with support edition) just for them to die in a few months. Or you can save up money and buy Tarkov's most expensive edition $250 and be set for good.

Not to mention all the time and effort you put into learning every single clone that will release.

I don't see a worthy competitor to Tarkov, maybe one day, but today is not that day.

Honestly, a game like Tarkov to me is worth every penny of it's current $250 price tag (you're not forced to pay that much btw), I'd be happy to dish out the extra bucks if I see a worthy competitor too.

Tarkov devs have earned every single penny of the $250 most expensive edition, every single penny. The game is a masterpiece, sound design, graphics, optimization, gameplay, everything is perfect except the occasional hacker.

Considering how many hours most people put into that game, it's the best $250 spent on entertainment for a video game.

They still only have 10% of the game made in the last 7 years, they keep adding ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dlc's and more useless crap. Just give me the game i bought 7 years ago. they have made 0 progress on free hand building, open world or survival, what we got stuck with is some jank extraction shooter with a timer and tiny maps and extremely outdated graphics. And after 12 years of developement they still have PUBG level movement jank

I guess we have different definition of useless crap

To me, free hand building, open world survival is the crap. I don't want a fortnite / dayz , I want the extraction-style loot based gameplay which it has currently.
