If your CPU getting hot...
...don't play. I'm serious.

I have i9-12900k with a little undervolt, 4090, 64gb ddr5 and my temps are: 19-23c idle, 55-60c in most games, up to 72c while rendering videos and working. Room temperature is 20-22c. GPU temps are up to 52c as well, even in most demanding games.

Paste is good (Grizzly), Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360 with custom fan curve for the best cooling. PC case has superb airflow with lots of fans. However, only THIS GAME spikes to 82c. Yes, 82c is not that bad in most situations, but we are talking about my average temperature, while people in some discussions even have 90-100c with shutdowns.

Game is in EA, it has some serious problems for some people with performance and still has a long way to go before it gets good optimisation for every system. I run this game in 3440x1440 with Epic settings, DLSS Quality, getting 90-120fps and 4090 just powering through the game engine anyway. I locked fps to 120.

In the starting zone my CPU temps are 45-55c, in the first village with 2-5 AI enemies it stays at 55c, but if I load the game from the menu or go to the heli CPU goes to 80c+ instantly. So my only solution here is to wait for more updates and fixes, you are not loosing anything if you don't play GZW right now.

Edit: I'm reading that some people clock down their GPU and CPU to play this game... Are you serious? Wait for the fix from the developers and don't mess with your system. If you really want to do something - update all drivers and BIOS.

This is a known intel fault that they know about, a fix is in the works, until then it’s fine to play at 90c, there are so many safety mechanisms that your never gonna brick a stock cpu just playing a game

Also, make sure you've properly set your BIOS settings for your configuration. One example is to try disabling hyper-threading on CPUs with more than 6 cores as this can specifically cause high temp issues.

Temps will go high only first time you join a server , after a couple of stutter , it will be playable , the more you play and explore the map the more it will be stable . They need fix those servers and the game will be awesome.

65c is most definitely not max temp. You would be fine hitting and sustaining 80c-90c, even.

Update: I've tried CP2077, Manor Lords, Cities Skylines, ARMA REFORGER, TARKOV and some 4X strategies (CPU demanding games in general) - no spikes, just 45-55c as usual, so it's a game problem for sure
I got also a warning for mobo temp over 85 ... Only with greyzone obviously

Don't CPUs auto-throttle? Sure it's a game optimisation problem but your CPU shouldn't be actively pushing itself that far anyway and should just chug the game along at lower fps.

Almost sounds like it's bad optimisation AND overclocking issues in most cases.
(not for OP though, 85*c is fine though I have my limit at 83*c)

For me I have been getting around 72*c average with the highest peak for any core being 78*c.

I have an i5 8600k which is fairly dated and barely meets the minimum requirements. I have tweaked my in-game settings to give me around 80fps average so I think my GPU is carrying me a bit (3080).

I am in the process of upgrading my processor but to have any meaningful upgrade also requires me to upgrade my motherboard... *sigh*

Im running MSI afterburner with this game so again MAX hottest core was 65c

Wait for couple month until devs fix the game. Incursion red river is better now. And it has been patched several times since the game released. gray zone warfare devs should release more patches or fix the game before put it on steam.

again its ea, each devs do this different way, they might just release bigger patch soon as summary of problems what players are reporting so far.

I think so too, I am back to incursion red river. I want to see if Gray zone warfare devs fix the game.
if you havnt tweaked your bios or hacked your gpu they will throttle and thats fine

i have undervolted my 10900k since the day i got it and booting up this game and loading areas it hits 210Ws and spikes to 85-90c for a split second, in gameplay its mid 60s at around 130Ws
my gpu i have undervolted and it spikes to 76c and plays at around 65c with noctua fans pulling around 250Ws

i also have my fans and aio pump not running at 50-70% depending on the fan an aio pump at 75% (any higher and it whines), i can 100% get better temps

my i9 10850k goes to 90c when in long flights in the chopper to for example the Fort from Lamang base. in the world running around or at base camp my cpu is around 60-63 but in a chopper it goes straight to 100% cpu usage the whole flight.

Interesseting. This is my second UE5 game, the first is Incursion red river, and what should I say. The same CPU temp problems.
I think it has something to do with the UE5 and devs not programming it perfectly.
There are other UE5 games out, but these 2 are having problems.

Even with undervolting are restricted power consumption GZW go over that line.

But my 5900x is a hot one and around 75 degree so far temps are ok but could be lower.
Compare other UE5 games and you see what I mean.

Go to bios and put a limit on cpu temps
