It's definitely unoptimized. I also run Grizzly paste, I7 10700F. After 2.1 hours of gameplay, I was sitting at 78C. No liquid cooling, just fans.
What was your spike temperature? Also, you can save on some of that by locking it to 60FPS - really no reason to go above that.
Spike was 85c. I have 160hz monitor, so I try to get 160 fps / 160hz for the best experience
And I don't think 80-90+ c° is normal when in other games your average is 60° at best.
Its not optimized what so ever. Only 1/4 people are reporting that they're not having issues. 3/4 are reporting high temps on CPUs.
Do research on Reddit and Discord before blaming someones RIG its the game.
I am with a lot of you on this game crashing issue. I lost four loaded kits due to crashing. I was finally able to figure out why the game kept crashing. I am running a Gigabyte Aorus Master Z690 with an Intel I 9 12900K, RTX 4080, 64GB DDR 5 XMP1, dual M.2 NVME raid 0, with a 49" 160 MHZ wide (data, discord, Streams) and a 45" 240MHZ curved wide (gaming). Hardware runs any game on max resolution over 150FPS. Tarkov, Hell Divers, BF 2042, COD, you name it. I started watching the temperatures of the CPU and GPU because the Blue screen of death is Timeout Watchdog Error. This when the CPU loses communication or voltage due to overheating. My temperatures were getting up to 90 degrees celcius on CPU and GPU. This is not acceptable and the motherboard will shut down the system. In order to bring down the temperatures you must First disable any overclocking software or bios overclocking settings. Second set you Video Graphics card settings in windows to balanced or performance. Last turn down your in game graphics to medium. Turn up your cooling fans on your CPU and GPU if you have the ability. This was the only way I was able to play this game and play for 3 HOURS without crashing. My temps came down to 45 Degrees CPU and 65 Degrees GPU. My system is not cheap, nor should I be experiencing this at all, but the game is in early development, and maybe this thread will help a lot of you at least run the game and provide some feedback for the developers, if they even decide to read it. I would appreciate positive feedback and results. If i am helping you, Your Welcome.

4080 super
12900k I9 OC
32 GB DDR5
Nv.me 2 4th gen SSD
CPU is watercooled
GPU is not
GPU temp with epic, on 1440p, with DLSS/Frame gen is 51-56c
CPU temp is 51-56 with spikes to 72 during asset loads, but I have seen it get to 68.
None of those temps scream "Danger, danger Will Robinson!" to me.
