Why a reset?
So, I just saw this game and it looks interesting, but the one item that bothers me is that there is supposed to be a reset every 6 month....At the same time I am reading about a living MMO open world and I am wondering....

I would appreciate your input. Thanks

Hi everyone,

There are differing opinions within the community regarding the concept of a wipe.

A wipe is typically required when a major update introduces significant changes to systems, quests, and other game elements. This reset ensures that players can fully experience the new content without any issues arising from existing characters or progress.

As we approach a wipe, the developers will announce it through official channels, along with additional details.

Please remember to maintain respectful discourse towards one another.

Because the devs are just cashing in on Tarkov drama and have no creative ideas of their own

reset is an homage to EFT. It's there so unemployed / children can play all day, finish content, then complain that "ugh only wipe is fun" when they completed all the content at an accelerated pace

then during the time period, they have the best gear and ♥♥♥♥ on noobs all while waiting for wipe, it's a joke and the worst part of these kinds of games

well to be fair, its also about adding large chunks of content on the reset. And also, there supposedly isnt a TON of content atm so a reset might keep things flowing and interesting especially with the new content or additions with these wipes

It's not a big deal, this game isn't too grindy. Yes, you can loose everyhing, but in general it's not hard to earn money. Also wipes are great becouse everyone starts fresh & lot's of major conent usually being brought to such games.

Resets (Wipes) are organic to the game because if you play 4 months after release and the only people you're PvPing are maxed out with the best armour, best guns, and best ammo you die in 1 shot and have no chance. The wipes make it a level playing field so everyone can get ahead / fall behind or take the game at their own pace, also when they add new areas / quests / content to the game you get to experience it from the beginning, instead of just log in, do that content and then log back out.

many games do wipes or make you start with a fresh character every so often - diablo, tarkov, CoD (they have a yearly wipe that costs you another £60+ KEK)

Except that a living MMO open world does not go well with wipes....

Yeah man. I too would love to return to this game in ~3 months, just to get astronomically obliterated by maxed out people

its a good selling point for bigger game versions with more starting gear you know ;)

I wonder if after some time majority of people will just do the PVE servers
