Solved most of crashes

bios: decreased memory speed to offload memory controller (4000-> 3600, on 12th gen cpu with gear1 this decreases some of the voltages on cpu, applies for ddr4)
bios: disabled intel turbo boost (feature boosting single cores)
bios: set power restrictions to "all - intel default specifications

Disabled all available fps counters and overlays:
- Disabled ingame fps
- Disabled steam overlay

System maintains stability with browser, discord, telegramm, another game in the background (2-3gb ram), Full HD with Epic settings + 120 frames + DLAA + generation (4080), basically maxed out.

After successfull extraction (around 1 hours game play) i restart the game to make sure i wont loose everything ive extracted in the next hour. Hope this helps someone. Previously i wasnt able to play even 5 minutes. DDR twick was actually the last one, so im not sure if cpu or memory settings helped this time.

For GPU Crash Dump:

Turn off Frame Generation in the graphic settings to stop the crash from happening. When they released HotFix #1, they botched that and now it crashes. Hopefully we'll have a fix soon.

These particular pieces of advice mostly refer to Intel users and Unreal Engine as a whole. You will see such issues more often as the engine becomes very popular. If Intel claims that stability issues are caused by motherboard manufacturers, the only solution would be to change BIOS settings or update the BIOS, which requires your assistance regardless...


However its pretty much possible there are many other issues you could experience. I can only confirm i was unable to play it as well, but found a solution, my game works now full hd up to 4k with 60-120fps, i still fear every time i leave the base that im going to loose everything because it may crash any second :D

There's an issue in recent years of people wanting PCs to be like a console and just work out of the box or be completely plug-n-play. And while they are, for the most part, managing bios, timings, power, etc. is just part of PC ownership. Especially when you're looking to push your system to it's limits (ie, playing next-gen game during ongoing development).

You can try some of the following solutions I have covered in my personal troubleshooting blog (GameScopes.com):

1. Turn Off FidelityFX Super Resolution
2. Cap the Gray Zone Warfare Framerate
3. Update the (GPU) Graphic Card Drivers
4. Reinstall Gray Zone Warfare from Steam
5. Disable your Steam Launcher’s Overlay
6. Clear Your Steam Launcher Cache Data
7. Update Your Visual C++ Redistributables
8. Set Your Windows to “High-Performance”
9. Turn Off the “Game Boost” in Your BIOS
10. Check the Disk Space and Memory (RAM)

Its an early access game, on a new engine. These things take time to iron out, please to cry/complain about how ignorant/entitled/dumb you are somewhere else

i for sure need help. my game freezes at loading in. I can hear the game but nothing. stops at syncing date and then spawning text.

actually it loads while spamming text, try to wait for longer, its possible the game wont load but this happens rarely
