Gray Zone Warfare

Gray Zone Warfare

Walking simulator with guns and dumb AI
Walked for like an hour looking for a gun fight..
stumbled upon this small town thinking sh**s about to go down..
but..
i see no enemies..
soo..
i started moving door to door..
and door to door.. and door to door.. (all of which are mostly inaccessible) :(
but finally..
after 20 mins of searching..
i encountered 2 enemy AI..
who were completely unaware of my presence.. .. ....
even though i was standing about 20 feet away, right in front of them.. .. ......
shot both of them in the face and within seconds the gun fight was overrrrrrrrr.......................................................................................................................................................................................................................... YAWN..

Cool Graphics Though!

ai gets better when you recieve broader tasks and gets out of first town.
i dont even own the game yet and i know its not supposed to be played like how you're wanting it lol

Better in what way though? It seems unlikely to me that AI suddenly improves other than increased numbers or enemy types (if there are any), which frankly isn't improving the AI, just upping the healthbars.

Wym? is expecting to be shot at and then engaging in a fire fight, exchanging rounds at each other from behind cover too much to hope for from a tactical fps? Am i wrong for assuming that's how it should've played out?
did you walk from the spawn point? lol within 500m there is prob 4 contacts or more.

i was trying to immerse myself and take in the scenery making it the most realistic experience i can possibly get.. that part of the game is good but the actual combat itself is very cheesy..

In this type of PVPVE shooter, the AI is completely brain dead by default. It's all about PVP, which is easy to code. This is not the Arma 3 AI. Or, even more intense, the Arma 3 AI modded with VCOM AI. AI is not a priority for the developers in this genre. Neither is netcode, anti cheat, mod support or private servers.

Their first priority will be cashing in on the special editions (first thing they talk about on the store page). Like BRUH! I don't even know what your video game is about. And you're already trying to sell me extra stuff. WTF?

Their next priority will be adding new gear in order to give the illusion that they are working hard. Stuff that could be done better and easier through mods.

This is not my first rodeo with the genre.

idk anything about the devs because im not the type of person to watch every Q&A about a video game but from what ive seen.. i think the devs are just a couple of people who figured out they could make a game using UE5 but dont really know what theyre doing so theyre using early access to build up some funds so they can try to hire people with experience to finish what they dont know how to finish.. could be a good thing or a bad thing but atm its just a walking simulator to me..

Stop LARPing in a video game and start actually playing it. If you want tactical jungle action go play MGS3.

I don't watch the Q&As either. They are basically a marketing tool. Nah. I look at what these devs usually do with their products. Also saw an old video of a younger more naive Nikita (guy in charge of Tarkov) spilling the beans and saying that CHEATERS BRING MORE MONEY TO YOUR GAME. Looking at how Tarkov is basically made for cheaters, he still has this philosophy.

Make no mistake. Gray Zone Warfare is a direct response to Tarkov imploding right now. If you are unaware, just a few days ago Tarkov released a 250 euro p2w edition (without taxes, with taxes probably around 330 euros). Everyone just lost their mind.

GZW was rushed out the door to capitalise on Tarkov's mistake. It was a genius marketing move. It worked. Just look at the review section.

GZW was planned to release around Q4 2024.
