If you get 70+ FPS post your settings please
Have an Nvidia card? Getting 70+ FPS? Please post your build and in-game settings so those of us who are getting trash FPS can start replicating those graphics settings.

I'm running a 3090ti FTW, i7-1200k, 32gb of DDR5, on an M.2 SSD and I'm topping out at 42 fps with FSR enabled, performance mode, all medium settings.

Judging from the UE forums, this is apparently a bug for 40 series cards with the engine right now more than others. It's what I've found within the first minute reading in 2 posts.

i just ran in cmd the sfc /scannow and before that dism /online /cleaup-image /restorhealth
had some corrupt framework files. going to see if it fixed anything after i restart

Check the UE forums and type in your exact unhandled exception. There are solutions for some people.

System Specs
  • CPU:
    AMD Ryzen 7900x3D
  • RAM:
    64GB DDR5 5600 CL28 (SKHynix silicon)
  • GPU:
    EVGA RTX3080 FTW3 Ultra LHR 10GB
  • Drives(x4):
    2TB Samsung 980Pro M.2 NVME

FPS Range: 90-100, occasional drops to 50-60 for maybe half a second when loading a new area.

Playing at 2560x1440(2k / 1440p) resolution

Notes
  1. If you have a Gsync(any tier)/Freesync/Adaptivesync monitor also make sure its enabled on the monitor itself, if you have a FPS counter built into your monitor, this will be helpful in determining if the monitor and gpu are actually syncing by comparing the monitor hardware FPS to the on screen FPS provided by NVIDIA overlay, the hardware FPS monitor should match within a few FPS of whatever the NVIDIA control panel is reporting, if the hardware FPS is locked, its not working.

  2. I was getting crashing with frame generation enabled, but it was actually due to the Effects Quality setting, lowering it to low, removed the UE-GZW crash, also did not notice any visual change to having this set lower

  3. Your experiences may not match mine with these same settings, no two silicon chips are identical in terms of performance capabilities, as well as many other factors which can affect performance, such as other programs running in the background.

Nvidia Control Panel:

Manage 3D settings:
  • Monitor Technology:
    G-Sync (or freesync,adaptive sync)
  • Preferred Refresh rate:
    Highest Available
  • Power management mode:
    Prefer maximum performance
  • All other settings are default

Change Resolution:
Make sure the resolution is set to (native) and the refresh rate of the monitor playing on is set correctly

Setup G-sync:
  • Enable G-Sync, G-Sync Compatible
  • Enable for Windowed and full screen mode

Windows:
(you can google how to do these)
  • Enable Game Mode (in the past, this was bad, now its good, needed for x3D CPU in fact)
  • Enable Game Bar (same as above note)
  • Enable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
  • With the game running, open windows game bar with WIN+G, click the gear icon, and check the box "remember this as a game", GZW isnt detected by gamebar yet and for those with 7900x3D and 7950x3D CPU's this is required to tell windows to use the correct CPU scheduling for core prioritization and parking of the non-3d cache cores when they arent needed. (gamebar must be up-to-date as well)

Game Settings:
  • Window Mode:
    Fullscreen (See Note #1 above)
  • VSync:
    Off
  • Frame Rate Limit:
Limit to your monitors max frame-rate, anything over that is lost and performance that can be given back to other settings
  • Global Illumination:
    High
  • Shadow Quality:
    High
  • Texture Resolution:
    Medium
  • Effects Quality:
    Low (See note #2 above)
  • Reflections Quality:
    High
  • Foliage Quality:
    Epic
  • Post Processing:
    Low
  • Motion Blur:
    None
  • Sharpening:
    10
  • Anti-Aliasing/Up-scaling method:
    FSR
  • NVidia Reflex Low Latency:
    On
  • FidelityFX Frame Generation:
    On (See Note #2 above)
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution:
    Balanced

I notice I loose between 30-40 fps when using 4.5 scope on M4.
I've uploaded more screenshots to my artwork profile.
I use FSR at the moment because DLSS is broken imo.
