Steam page, discord, website, steam announcement etc.
Easy enough to look it up.
What you are talking about is the "Gray Zone Warfare - Tactical Edition Upgrade".
But on the main store page there is literally the "Gray Zone Warfare - Tactical Edition" as a completely normal game listed.
No DLC banner, no upgrade in the title, it is not mentioned that you need the actual base game.
It CLEARLY indicates that it's just another version of the game and not a DLC. Which is false advertising.
People should be able to get all their information from the store page, which they can't and actually get mislead.
Maybe others are seeing it the same as my store page where right now Tactical Edition is at the top and there is not DLC badge for it, and it does not say "Upgrade"
My purchase order shows...
"Buy Gray Zone Warfare - Tactical Edition" CDN$ 29.92
"Buy Gray Zone Warfare" CDN$ 44.99
"Buy Gray Zone Warfare - Elite Edition Upgrade BUNDLE " CDN$ 58.54
"Buy Gray Zone Warfare - Supporter Edition Upgrade BUNDLE" CDN$ 84.56
So to most people it would initially look like an introductory offer like a lot of devs do when they release a game.
It's not until you add it to your basked that it says "this includes a DLC and is not refundable", doesn't even say that it is a just a DLC, only that it includes it.
I got all my information from the store page. User error is not an excuse. Do better.
It doesn't seem like you got all your information from the store page.
There is no false advertisement. You just need to read the store page correctly.
Again, user error is no excuse.
It's clearly not just user error when their store page was so misleading that they have first renamed items that were deemed confusing and misleading, and then completely removed the option...
I had no issue discerning what I should and shouldn't buy by using the information provided to me on the store page.
If others can't then it is user error.
I just joined the discord to see if they had mentioned anything about it, and they literally made an announcement about it being a problem and working to fix it...
And had to clarify in the announcement that yo had to buy the base game and that the Tactical Edition doesn't include it. Even thought it looked as if it did as it had no "DLC" badge.
Yeah they released an announcement about it around 30 minutes ago or something I believe.
That doesn't make any difference to what I said.
Even with the store page issues I was able to understand that I needed to buy the base game first. Why were others not able to understand this?
It's user error.
But glad they fixed it.
Same DLC product:
"Gray Zone Warfare - Tactical Edition Upgrade"
vs
"Gray Zone Warfare - Tactical Edition"
-No DLC banner, no upgrade in the title, it is not mentioned that you need the actual base game.
Are you insane? You keep saying it's an user error. MEANWHILE THEY LITERALLY FIXED THE ISSUE.
So it clearly was a bug and not user errors.
I'm not saying there was an issue. I'm saying that, even with the issue, I was still able to understand that the Tactical Edition did not include the base game.
If you think it did, then it's user error.
If it wasn't user error then I wouldn't have been able to understand that the Tactical Edition didn't include the base game.
It's a good moment for self reflection so you can learn for next time. Instead of wildly clicking buttons, research the product you're trying to purchase.
If I hadn't done my research I wouldn't have discovered that issue.
I initially only claimed "People should be able to get all their information from the store page, which they can't and actually get mislead.".
"A user error is any error caused by the end user of the computer and not the computer, hardware, or software running on the computer."
The error was caused by (unintentional) false advertisement on the store page.
