Be more methodical in your approach to dangerous areas and use control/sneak far more. Wait and scan for AI patrol patterns in areas to show themselves. Do not rely on bushes for line-of-sight cover if you can help it. Get the high ground above an area where you know combat will take place. Shoot, move into cover, and listen for chatter and the position until you can ambush them.
Also, use AP ammo and aim for the heart or always try to head-shot. Shooting a few times and moving into cover also works as they will bleed out.

Skills. Keep distance.
All that remains is to wait for the update
I really wish they would give us a bit more details about the indented AI changes. From what I've heard so far, I have a bad feeling that AI behavior and their super-human senses/toughness will remain largely unchanged, but they will also be able to throw grenades at us with super-human accuracy...
sooooooo, they are "bullet sponge terminators who can take cover AND throw nades"? awesome.
I was just doing a task in blue lagoon and when landing I heard shots, so I thought to myself "great, I'll just sneak in and complete it and bounce.". And while sneaking I suddenly hear a snap from my left side and then get hit by a bullet.
So I run back towards the LZ to heal up, and when I return the same bots that were shooting at me are now docile for some reason.
I mean, if this continues in the next patch then I guess I'm out.
I think this probably annoys me more than anything about AI - their ability to know exactly where the player is. Shot a dude in Fort Narith from inside one of the barracks through a 2nd floor window, suppressed, while lying prone on the bunk bed. He was facing away from me. He doesn't die from the first few shots, runs a few feet forward without looking back, then turns around and immediately manages to hit me 6 times center-mass...
If your internet connection is flakey then there can be rubber banding. Can be frustrating, if there is a blood puff, you probably hit them at least.
