Any fix for scope fps drop?
I have slightly above the "recommended specs" on the store page of the game, but I drop to 45 fps while using a scope, seemingly no matter what graphics settings I use.

I understand picture-in-picture scope FPS is going to drop no matter what but here is the issue...

It does not seem to drop a certain % of my FPS, it just goes straight to 45-50 no matter what... I could be getting 60 FPS and when I scope it drops to 45, then change some graphics settings and get 80 FPS and when I scope it drops to 45.

Example
- 1440p TSR 90% 3D render resolution = 60 fps, 45 scope fps
- 1080p TSR 50% 3D render resolution = 85 fps, 45 scope fps

Any advice would be appreciated thank you.

(Besides turning on FSR with frame generation)

It probably also explains me having the EXACT same FPS regardless of low / med / high / epic qualities and I even tried at 720 res (vs my 1080 native), still stayed the exact same. Probably comes down to the CPU and the various BUS lanes in the PC can only handle so much.

There is no fix for this other than potential optimization buy the devs. Its because they use a PiP (Picture in Picture) method when using magnification scopes that has to render the image twice thus causing the frame drops.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

That makes sense. Sucks because the recommended specs say:
64gbram, rx6800, R5 3600X .... And I have:
64gbram, rx7800XT, R5 5600X
How is a shooting game going to make the "recommended" system only able to get 45 fps...

Same. I got a 5600x with a 3070, 64GB. I get 80-90 with FSR+Gen (Native AA), 40-50 with DLSS. If I go to Tiger Bay, DLSS drops to 17-22 / FSR 35-45 with scopes being unuseable short of single AI sniping, one aggro'd the scope goes straight to my container when in TB.

Good news is that it looks like Hotfix #5 is coming with some mild form of optimization for both client and server side.

Depends on your setup, my CPU rarely goes much above 30% utilisation but I have a 4090 and 13900k

Try TSR with AA set to Epic and 75 3D Resolution, I went to TSR from FSR and the game looks WAY better, and gained about 5-10 fps
That is good news

My dudes, the problem here is that all the AA Settings and 3D Resolution is not taken into an account on the render scene of the scope so its getting streamed in Native Resolution. They need to fix their dual-render scene to accept our settings or you can use something like Losseless Scaling for now and use AA TSR with Off and 3D Resolution at 100% the app will do the rest for you either if its only for FG or a scaling method with or w/o FG.

You can test in-game right away that when you are playing in your native res (and 100% 3D Resolution)* without using DLSS/FSR the scope does not drop FPS just a spike for turning on the scope scene.

Native Res = the Resolution Setting*

I would be a baller at 45 fps. I'm lucky when I'm getting 30.

I've tried all the supersampling systems. For me XeSS and TSR are only good for 30-35 FPS tops on my system, DLSS 40-50, FSR up to 110-120 with Native AA Frame Gen.

In terms of quality, DLSS beats all, FSR second place but likes to go fuzzy all the time, and XeSS and TSR both have always looked like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no matter the settings.

I'll mess around with settings some more, who knows?

What is the matter you clown? Your little potato PC can't handle the game? You like to tell people so much that they need to "upgrade their toaster" and "git gud", yet here you are, complaining about FPS drops. 😆 Looks like the ice cream licked back.

He's not actually complaining, we're talking about dropping below 60 fps with above recommended system req and he is just here letting everyone know he gets 110-170 fps. But he is obviously using frame generation which causes unplayable levels of input lag.

I have TSR on Epic because it didn't seem to affect fps... I will try on Off.

The frames go down because it's PIP. All cool and all but pointless.
