This duping issue... oh my god

QUICK DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN THE GAME. No, this is not an attempt of trolling (Poe's law, had to put this), these are my geniune opinions. This is my 2 cents as somebody who has this game in his wishlist and wants to play this game after it gets ripened

If the rumors are true, this is such a draconian system to ban anyone who even touched duped items. This reminds me the FO76 dupe scandal when it first came out

I can see and understand the obvious reasons why devs needed to put some sort of system against this issue, but holy hell it is too harsh! Even if devs manage to ban the dupers, the oblivious bystanders who commited the blunder of getting a duped item also gets affected by this system.

If devs can manage to identify duped items somehow and tag the players who get a hold onto them they also can just delete the items along with the og duped item and settle with that. But banning everyone is too harsh in my opinion. Yeah, in TOS it clearly states duping is a bannable offense, but considering innocent people also getting banned, I think at least it should be temporarily suspended at least for this issue and devs should install a temporary fix until a robust fix happens.

Correction: I forgot to add I definitely don't defend any malicious players using any exploit or program to gain an advantage. I have alreadily fed up with bots and cheaters in other games and I wholeheartedly agree with people on this concern. My main concern is for those who accidentaly get some duped items unknowingly or those who stumbled upon a bug, fiddled with it and got banned for it

Ideally we need some answers to the OP's concerns then..
1) can you get banned for picking up duped items?
2) are they actively banning people for duping items?

We can then start to ask more questions once the basic ones are out of the way, if the answer to 1) and 2) are "no".. then we can start to look into other reasons why so many are posting "i'm banned".
If the answer to 1) is "yes" we can start to work out is it just the base, anywhere on the map, anyway to identify a duped item.

We can't do anything until someone answers something on the matter, we're just going to go around in a circle.

My ban appeal was denied, accused of running external software and/or modifying game files. Of course they can't tell me what software or what files I modified. If they can't even fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exploits people are supposedly being banned for, how can I trust them to properly detect which loot is and isn't duped?

We are all simply testing the game right now. But punishing players for finding bugs in a EA game is harsh and defeats the whole purpose of early access . IMO

I would agree with you if the people who originally found the dupe actually reported it instead of spreading it around the community, thus creating a widespread dupe problem.

You don't get punished if you actually find bugs and report them.

No one is getting banned for picking up a gun or accidentally duping ammo.
Those who have duped millions of dollars ingame on the other hand not so lucky.

They will fix this later when they do wipe, the game currently has no economic management as they said in one interviews.

Exploiting known bugs is different than players finding bugs. This excuse to exploit in early access is the most deadbeat excuse there is. No reason for players to continue abusing and exploiting a bug once it's already known by the dev team.

This game will be dead by the end of Next Year 2025. Just like Ready Or Not. Full Release of this game will spark numbers once again then die off once again like all the other indie developed games badly managed.

To be honest you shouldn't be getting a ban for Duping, Its a game exploit and very fragile around the TOS, so a borderline bannable offence. They are going to loose player base because of this exploit, but banning accounts is a little extreme.

Just a FYI my account has been banned as well because the server disconnected as i was playing about with my Locker inventory and it duplicated my money, weapon and keys. So i then figured out how to do the exploit and did it a few times more. But hey hoo it is what it is.

Anyone who exploits the duplication glitch earned a well deserved ban. Period.

Funny how it's always the cheaters complaining about not being allowed to cheat. As if telling the non-cheaters that you got banned for cheating will convert us to your cheating side.
