gear sell price should be raised
as it stands, sell price is 30% of buy price. imo it's not really enough, it should be at least 40%

There are 3 big ways people make money in gzw (w/o exploits):
1. sell gear
2. do tasks
3. loot cash registers

doing tasks is king because a singular task not only gives you a lot of money but usually gear that offsets a significant chunk of the money needed to buy a full kit. They're also pretty easy and most of the time you can complete them even if a questing run ends in death.

second is cash registers, and it's my go to for making money. It's great because if you spare a slot in ur secure container, you'll keep the cash that you loot even on death. Not to mention, every register has at least 500 dollars. Depending on where you go and if you can hit most of the registers in this place, you can buy back a decent portion of your kit in the event of a death. And obviously, there's the insane profit that you make if you survive, especially on Midnight Sapphire. The crazy thing is sometimes you can get away with doing it equipped with just a knife.

last and least is selling gear that you get from containers or dead AI/player adversaries. It is the absolute worst because you usually have to spend money on your kit and risk losing it all in the event of death to get gear. You also get heavy after looting which can get you killed. But the biggest thing about looting gear to make money is that to get your money's worth in terms of your kit, you usually have to do 2-3 extremely efficient runs to break even. To be fair though, combining it with looting cash registers, you could do 1-2.

In a looter shooter selling loot HAS to be the best method but it isn't, and honestly this is a big contributing factor to why people have started dropping the game.

In a dev blog a while back, they did mention they do not want players just going out to loot for items just to sell and that story driven tasks as well as dynamic tasks will be the main source of income and most lucrative.

There is going to be more loot and higher tier loot in the game, but even then, devs mentioned they want player to loot for the overall benefit of their faction instead of selling for their own benefit. Can't speak on what this means 100%, but I am assuming there's going to be some mechanics where we have to donate items to our bases/factions.

Overall, even now, you can still go out an loot POIs and bring back $2-3k worth of gear, not including loose cash. One loot run at Hunter's I found $1,200 in each of the registers, not including the gear I found in the weapon storage. Also just learned that there's a safe at Midnight that has $10k+ inside of it. Personally don't think gear and weapons prices need to be higher, as you can really bring in some money if you dedicate yourself to just going out, parting out parts and looting loose cash.

There are things to loot even now, but again as the devs mentioned, they don't want players going out just to loot items for their own benefit like "other extraction shooters" (Tarkov)

Well written. The devs had a vision for this game, that players would work together to complete tasks and challenges but the reality is very different. They didn't take into account the toxic community(mostly coming from the same Tarkov garbage). Instead of helping they tk, camp lz's, dupe and other exploits. Typical caveman mentality.

Agreed. Hope they get those exploiting the game into the ground under control at some point. Kinda sickening how many people are exploiting the AI and duplication glitch instead of actually just playing the game.

Just hope when these future mechanics make it into the game, exploits and glitches are smoothed out of the game where people actually have to play the game the way it was intended.

yeah once I learned how many registers are on midnight sapphire I've only gone there to farm and it's insane, but it doesn't sit right with me knowing I make like three times more money on midnight than fort narith just because of registers. It's either registers are too good and need to get nerfed, gear is too cheap, or both.

I think we're at least a year away from the gameplay revolving around tasking and looting for the faction rather than simply the looting of other players, I don't see why in that time gear prices shouldn't be raised since looting is what pvp revolves around right now

At least in PvE I find people super helpful and nice. And I'm a low level player trying to catch up to where people are at which typcially would have me never get help. So I'm super happy with the vibes in PvE. And it doesn't have me craving pvp at this point.
