Is There an End-Game?
Just curious, is there any kind of end game?

It ends when you get bored of mashing buttons and load Sacred 2.

lol okay I get it... But, are there any kind of goals other than the pure desire to kill some monsters? Is there any kind of new game plus? How deep is the character customization, does it warrant playing different vaiations in build? From what I have played so far, it doesn't seem like the classes are much different from each other and you only get two special skills at a time? Kind of boring :P

there is a new game plus, after you have beaten the game once you unlock deity difficulty where, starting with min level 28 the mobs scale to your level

I guess they expect you to grind to the level cap then try for high scores. Though, according to someone I spoke to recently, even the leaderboard idea is kinda broken thanks to stages with infinitely spawning enemies and traps that can be disabled over and overa gain for infinite points.

or just, i know its an oldscool idea, just play the game for fun, get a mate over, open some beers and have a laugh, in the end even the best farmed epic loot still is useless, play a game as long as its fun, there are plenty of other games where you have to grind the fun away...

the game has an endgame with scaling enemies, that aside i think the devs went for the playing is its own reward idea

You don't really seem to grasp that other people might find other things fun from yourself. Fans of the Sacred games prior to this consider it a pretty shallow and unegaging experience for the most part.

It's a bit offensive to tell people how to enjoy things, particularly when something seemed designed almost with the express intention of alienating those old fans.
What? An endgame? You`ve seen it all. 7 skills and dodge/block. Nothing more. Saper endgame is much better. After beating this game there is no point in playing this boredom once again. Mash, mash, mash. Bleh.

I suppose this shows you the longevity of the title.

For comparison over a similar time period, let's look at Spore. A 6 year old game commonly considered one of the biggest gaming disappointments of all time.

Edit: Apparently it doesn't retain time settings for them. All of Sacred 3's history and the 7d period on Spore, if it wasn't obvious.

Obviously you can just keep doing the levels if the enemies scale with you. But having a little carrot does help. Since it scales with you past lvl 28 anyway it would be nice if they just removed the cap and let the monsters and your damage etc continue to grow. That would work nicely against those who are competing on the leaderboards. Maybe they'll see this and consider implementing it since now I think someone said the character caps at 50.

They will be adding more DLC, so I guess so long people keep buying stuff, they will make more for you to do.

This is the end game of Sacred 3: You beat the final boss.... Gg you won, end game.
Amiculi Aug 7, 2014 @ 1:48am
Personally I think the end game is *clickclickclickclick*, it's pretty similar to the early game which is *clickclickclickclick*, but there's a nuanced difference. This is of course unless you're using an Xbox controller, in which case it may be "AAAAAAAA", and, if you came from PS3 perhaps it would be "XXXXXXX", but there's still a subtle difference from the early game in both cases.

sounds pretty much like any video game to the non informed observer

I was mostly being facetious.

I've borrowed the game from a friend on PS3 as of yesterday, I'm taking the time to actually play it so I can have a more informed opinion. Thusfar it's not THAT far from the truth though. I'm not going to take a huge dump on the game in and of itself. But it is extremely shallow and repetitive, and about 2/3rds through it, it feels exactly the same as it did in the first two stages.

If it had been called something else and priced at $10 or $15 at most, I'd probably have picked it up myself and been pretty pleased with it, it wouldn't have been a cherished classic I revisit but I'd have gotten my money's worth out of it under those circumstances.
