Your best bet is to watch a few videos about the game and make your choice that way.
Be sure to pick up the Gold edition, because one of the DLCs (Orcland Story) is not purchasable separately if you wish to buy them at a later time.
Edit: It's definitely not a Sacred game. Forget the name completely.
But if you are looking for a RPG elements, with lots of grinding and stuff... You might wanna look another game (Like Sacred Gold or Sacred 2 Gold)
And If you want to try it, just BUY and DO NOT listen to anyone else.
The well-earned hatred of old sacred 1&2 fans (like me) aside, it is still a crappy game
not worth the time bothering with imo.
If imagine other name of the game "Doka 3 path of the rikachu" then u have very fun game for gamepads and party with friends)
Because it's both a bad sacred game and bad game in general.
First of all, this is nothing like good old Sacred and Sacred 2. The first sacred looked like a diablo clone, but a good clone nonetheless. Can even play with a vampire. sacred 2 took the franchise in it's own way and made it look less like a clone. Only the expansion ice & blood was poorly executed, but by then ascaron was already filling in for bankruptcy and the expansion was made by a skeletoncrew. And blind guardian is featured in sacred 2. Both games play in an open world and in sacred 2 ancaria got unique regions, each with it's own atmosphere.
Sacred 3 puts you into a dungeon. Gone is the open world with regions. Lineair gameplay with no choices, simplified mechanics and they killed the seraphim. In the first 2 games you made then a certain build, because of the many skills you have. In sacred 3 builds are non-existant. Just select a char and off you go. It has also no ties with the story of the first 2 games. Sacred 2 was the prequel to sacred 1. 3 is just randomly set. Looks like they just throw the lore overboard.
But also in general, even if you didn't play a sacred game before, it is just bad. Biggest problem is the clunky controls. Also, you cannot change the resolution. It stays at 1080x768.
Game is only in online mode and looks like a simple MMO. Everything is predefined, no choices at all. There is also no inventory. And you have no control over your character. You use a few skills and that's it. You use a few buttons.
Maybe play it if you feel bored, but otherwise don't bother.
It's a bad game, really. Not a good start at all for getting into ARPG. Then i would rather start with Venetica from Deck13. Or just start with Sacred or Sacred 2.
