Windows 7 and User Account Control
This thing where Windows 7 users have to:
"Disable User Account Control ("UAC") via the Windows Control Panel before launching the game."
Does this effect your whole operating system, or just this one game? How big of an issue is having to do this on W7?

I've tried every "fix" on these forums for the past 2 hours and this game still wont launch for me. If I were you I'd buy something else. I wish I had!

Hopefully, somebody can shed some more light on this, and get you up-and-running too, Teebor. Hang in there.

Doesn't work for me with UAC shut off. Leaving your UAC shut off isn't really a huge deal. Some ATI setups+Windows 7 do not mix well with old games.

Win 7 64bit, AMD 6 core Proc. I have had no problems. I've left my UAC on as well. No changes to system and it installed and lauched perfectly...played 2 missions. No problems.

I just played the first two missions on Win 7 and I didn't do anything to start the game. I always start Steam as Admin don't know if that matters but, some of my games don't run unless I do. Other than that I changed nothing but the video settings to max in game.

Edit: Just checked and my UAC is still at default.

I never had an issue with this and 7 and had a HD2900Pro, HD4870, HD5870 and my current HD7970 on 7. I am running 8.1 now with my HD7970 and it runs fine with UAC on.

I think its not really needed TBH as UAC only activates if the app tries to access core system components or install something.

SO I say leave UAC on and just try it. Should work fine.

Win 7 64bit, AMD 6 core AMD Radeon HD 7570. UAC is off, running Steam and C&C as admin. I get nothing but a DirectX 9.0 error. I have DirectX 11. Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? From what I've read online I'm not the only one having this problem.

UAC Can affect pop-ups when registering to play online, that is the only reason they recommend to turn it off. If UAC is on it will disable the pop-up and you wont be able to play online.

If anyone has a better idea of it feel free to correct me....
