Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™

Game will not launch.
So first time tryin' to play these games after a few months and after the recent updates for these games, and the C&C 3 will not launch what-so-ever, won't even tell me why it won't launch, just the play button will turn blue, the splash screen shows up, and then play turns back to green and the game will not launch. Could it possibly be affected by the different screen I'm currently playing on?

Have you tried verifying the install files through Steam? Do you have any mods installed?

Verified, still didn't work, and no installed mods. I really do think it's a resolution thing cause Kane's Wrath works, and if I remember correct I do sometimes fiddle with the resolution to fit the screen better. Not playin' on the same screen as normal.

Have you fiddled with the game's resolution for this game?
Probably, cause I want full screen to be the whole screen, no black bars.

Try to undo those changes and see if that fixes it, then adjust the resolution in-game again. If it crashes the game, just reboot the game and try till it doesn't crash.
Currently waiting for it to reinstall like that'll fix the problem. Something my dad always suggests that never works.
Having the same issue on my Win 11 machine. It works fine on my Win 10 machine. No mods, and a fresh, verified install. I see the spalsh screen, then it goes away, and the game shuts down with no error message or anything.
Oh good, someone else is having the same issue. Means it's not my fault at all. I remember the first time the game wouldn't launch it was apparently cause apparently directx wasn't functioning for some reason, and I think it was also around when I had to uninstall and reinstall my AMD software completely, chips and all.
Still not launching at all. Good news though, found the ini file. I think. Is it not supposed to be along with everything else in the steam files?
Ok FINALLY it's workin' no clue what I did, but I've tried goin' to the ini file and settin' res to 800 600, I tried turning off compatibility with what the hell ever, something gave and now the game's working. I feel like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥' tech priest already.

Nice, good to see your issues solved.

For me, I had to turn off compatibility mode. I had previously enabled that and after the patch, it made the game crash on launch. I don't know if that will work for you but it's worth a try.

The games in this collection have been tested carefully. If it didn't have compatibility mode enabled by default, you shouldn't enable it manually.

This is a very very old issue.
Start in 800x600, then *walk* your way up until you are at the resolution you want like 2k.
Makes no sense and no idea what causes that.
I have the exact issue with you and cannot fix by editing the resolution on an ini file. Since I was never able to launch the game at least once, no profile or ini file was created. I also have the same issue with Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3.
