Seems to be that maps I've completed before on a previous version still work ok, but if I try a map I haven't played yet, it will crash.
Just because there's a workaround doesn't mean people should put up with that and stay silent. These things need to be said so that hopefully developers see them and they get fixed properly, for everyone.
Plus, if you revert to a previous version, then you obviously lose any improvements made in the most recent one. (Not that there was much brought to the game this time).
nah I dont have Kanes Edition installed yet get that same error message.... how ironic that this game has worked for years without any patches yet after more than 10 years they decide to release an update and it broke the game lol
EDIT: whops looks like you're right... other maps are indeed working and Tiberium Wars on Steam is Kanes Edition by default. I thought you meant Kanes Wrath ;-)
Would be nice if we can delete the broken maps from the installation location, I'll look into that
I tried creating a new profile, but I still got the same crash above.
I deleted any replays from my replays folder.
I am specifically trying to load Tiberium Gardens III. it seems like some other maps will load.
Maps that crash:
Ground Zero
Tiber River Valley
Tournament Desert Redux
Frontier Fracas
Tiberium Gardens III
So these are the Kane Edition maps. Tiberium Gardens III is my all-time favorite map, and I am beyond thrilled to have it in the base game thru steam (manually adding it in the past was a pain and buggy). However, it appears that somehow the implementation of the Kane Edition content is not quite right.
this is not CNC3: Kane's Wrath, that is a different standalone game
