Rubbish
The campaign in ths game is awful. As GDI you are constantly mobbed by units preventing you from doing anything. Base defences are completely useless which means you have to babysit your base and can't progress forward because the AI can just laaunch wave after wave at you.

Defences have next to no range nor health. All NOD ever does is send waves of vehicles anr rocket troops who can attack without fear of being shot by your watchtowers. It's ridiculous. Sarajevo is the worst wher eyou have a base with no power and no way to build buildings and constantly have to micro manage power around your already ♥♥♥♥♥♥ defences.

How is that fun?

I agree with OP to the extent that the A.I can be fairly frustrating to play against, you never seem to have enough cash whereas the A.I begins the game with a complete base and impunity to send wave after wave of fairly devestating frontal assualt troops.

But what OP didn't seem to realise is that the A.I punishes turtling and relying on base defense is not how the game is meant to be played. Yes, you can do it in Starcraft and other modern RTS, but this isn't them. Everything has a counter.

Or you can just play on 1.12... where the eco nerf wasn't present. The AI in the campaign operates on 1.12 rules while you operate on 1.13 rules if you don't play on older patch versions.

You can turtle in the campaign. You just have to turtle with tanks around a war factory. The watchtower and gaurdian cannon aren't bad, but they're meant to deal with early agression, in addition to units. Once you have the sonic emmiter, two or three of those just destroy everything.

-- I played through on normal, so not sure how the harder difficulty is, but typically the AI sends pre-set waves at you, and doesn't really deviate. On top of that, 3-4 mammoth tanks near a factory can typically beat any wave sent at you, with firehawks for anti - artillery.

The biggest thing you get is that your units gain veterancy, a max rank unit can typically solo entire attack waves.

All of these idiots claiming "stop whining" or "get good" have literally no idea what they are talking about.

I've beaten the 360 version of the game on hard all the way through (All three factions) because the game wasn't "patched" to hell from multiplayer balancing that also affects the campaign in a very negative way.

Case in point, I finished the GDI Sarajevo mission on hard pretty easily on the Xbox360 because I am able to build defenses with my cranes. Can I do that on this patched up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam version? ♥♥♥♥ no. Scorpion tanks completely annihilate my guardian turrets. Mammoths are one-shot by Banshees. And the economy aspect of the game is thrown out the window when haversters now cost more and harvest LESS; ALL BECAUSE OF MULTIPLAYER "BALANCING".The campaign has been utterly demolished and trying to challenge yourself just makes the game almost impossible. I really, really hope somebody finds a way to revert back to the old patches to make the campaign playable (And not 'easy' because 'omg get rekt u suck lolol i trol u').

It's great, with a great campaign and great multiplayer. Hilarious that you'd actually come on to the net in order to moan that it's too hard for you.

the game is trash, EA ruined it and there are a bunch of EA fanbois worshipping this game lol (it's mostly opinion based so I dont blame them for loving EA's products)

Use to enjoy this game in campaign, but now I find my Win 10x64 PC is too fast for it. The enemy units spawn way too fast even in easy mode. My units take forever. The enemy units move so fast that they overrun my base before my people have time to shoot back. Their buildings pop up right after you destroy them. Can not find a way to slow down enemy spawn times. My bases are over run by dozens of enemy forces before I can build 2 turrets. Big mammouth tanks blow up faster than the cheaper version.
Runs ok on xbox360 in normal (No go yet for xbox one) but the load screens are forever,
PC has no load times.
Mouse for this game is better/easier to use.

No its the latest patch that slows down your economy to absurd levels. Try downgrading. The AI is supposed to build that fast, its just that the patch only affects the player.

How do you downgrade or undo the patch?

"To not have to type -runver in the command line every time, it is very simple. Go to start and find the Command and Conquer folder. Press right click to this folder and press properties. Here it will tell you a path, copy and paste it.
Paste this path in the address bar of my documents window.

Continue clicking the folders until you find the Command and Conquer 3 shortcut, copy and paste it to the same folder, it will say something along the lines of "Copy of C&C 3". Right click this file and see the first textbox called Target.

here you will see the path to your C&C executable after the last " write a space and then -runvar 1.0 or whatever version you wish to play. Press Ok and then you can rename the shortcut to whatever you want.

The target field will end like this: "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Command & Conquer 3\CNC3.exe" -runver 1.0

Hope this helps somebody." -crazygerad

Edit: also know that the player nerfs also apply to skirmish AI. The campaign AI is the only AI that ignores all economy nerfs.

I Think the GDI defence is fine you just have to go out there and build a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ of towers, The towers are only like 700$ , If you want a solid defence, COnstantly build them and powerplants and have infantry between them , You can later upgrade and get a pulse cannon defense.

But if you are talking just campaign then just build alot of towers and a few cannons and build a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of infantnry and rockets, you can put the rocket guys in the sandbag infantry. Dont have your infantry running ahead of them keep them back covered by them.

I managed to hold off a massive army on Skirmish- Brutal as GDI, It took me about 25 hours to win.

Throw on skirmish on GDI on Brutal , That will get your brain flying off your shoulders trying to win

Wanted to say thanks. Seems to have worked. Had to undo and add patch back after to complete since in one level the mothership was spawned at level start before I could even try to destroy the transmitter. Finished game ok. Still a great intense game to play.

Glad to see this thread helped someone. =)

if your complaining you probably just suck
I dislike how EA has altered the stats across the board so it would form a better balance for the (ironically, now-defunct) multiplayer, instead of having different data files for each component, like other have mentioned. In some missions, the lack of ability to use Cranes to build Support Structures, along with the other unit changes, makes the game to be difficult than it should be, and not in a "you shuld jus git gud" kinda way.
