step 1, build a second harvester for more funds.
step 2, infantry spam. riflemen to left and bot to stop enemy infantry, around 5-10 squads will be fine. dump all your remaining funds into producing missile squads, once you have around 30 or so will be when reinforcement convoy arrives.
Step 3, ignore them, they're fine there. send your army of missile squads to the vehicle base and blow up every enemy inside, the turrets and the war factory. do not destroy anything else, the remaining buildings are there for your engineers to capture.
step 4, win mission with Nod units. once you can produce nod troops, mission is basically over, the infantry base is a joke against your venoms and the air base can be overrun with vertigos.
you can actually complete the mission without rescuing the convoy at all, mission ends once all 3 nod bases are taken out. but if you do that, you lose out on intel and optional objectives of course.
Reason being: EA only implemented balancing fixes with the multiplayer in mind (they were pushing hard to make C&C 3 into this huge e-sports thing back in 2007/2008, trying - and failing - to rival StarCraft), semi-breaking the campaign in the process since it wasn't patched to account for the drastic changes some of those patches brought (especially in regards to economy, build radius and abilities like constructing defensive structures from cranes). Some mission become pretty gruelling on Hard difficulty and Patch 1.09 (like the last few Nod missions - if you think GDI is though you haven't seen nothing yet, the GDI campaign is a joke compared to the later half of the Nod campaign). The same is true for every other C&C of that era btw - EA only ever made fixes for the multiplayer but applied them universally to all game modes, f*cking up several parts of the games' campaign by not adjusting it to any of their changes.
Unfortunately there's no easy way to revert back to Version 1.0 on the downloadable versions of the game (Steam, Origin). You'll have to find and download the files manually if you wanna play the campaign as it was intended. It's worth it though, you'll have a *much* better time with it.
Thanks for this. I play lot of different games of the good old time 10 years ago +, but i'm not a RTS-fan at all. I played Spellcraft 1 and 2 because i bought it and tried it with C&C:tiberium wars also, i absolutely fail at the croatia-mission. It's very hard to quit this game, because i'm sort of a completionist but on the other hand, why should i train and learn a game i don't enjoy ?
I would have played it but not at that insane level of difficulty. What you said about the guys that train and play such games for years is absolutely true. I tried to complete the mission by watching youtube videos and just do what they do there, but i don't even see the mouse pointer most of the time.
I just need to be able to quit that game and done.
Game from Origin.
Capture NE base CY and it gets easier.
Micro Riflemen Squads for SW infantry attacks until you capture NE Nod CY.
After that, just build Shredder Turrets and its all good.
And SAMs for SE aircraft.
yes 1.0 version.. but 1.09 makes mission harder!
its not the same game anymore..
economy is 1.0 tiberium worth 2400 and now only 1400
blue was 4800 and now 2800
Makes sense, when i replayed the game last year, it seemed to me that i am sometimes short on money in same missions and i didnt remember having that issue before.
When the mission starts immediately grab both your rifleman squads & missile squads and rush the garrisonable buildings near the nod infantry base (the 4 buildings close to the bridge, avoid the 4 buildings near the base, as your infantry will waste attacks trying to kill the turrets). Support it with more infantry for the next one/two minutes, they'll take care of most/all the infantry attacks for a good part of the game since they don't build flamers until a good part through the mission. (this lets you power up the antivehicles defences 24/7 + 2 AA defences)
After that predator tank spam the nod vehicle base and capture their mcv (I recommend hitting the turret, then vehicle bays), beat the map win the nod units, then only save the mcv after everything else is pretty much won.
(This is what I did to handle the 1.09 'no cash' update)
