Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™

Will not run on Windows 7 64bit
Game launches splash screen, without xp compat mode I get the dx9 error. With compat mode nothing happens.

Ive googled popular solutions:

Move C&C3 to a directory without (x86) or (x64). Doesnt work.

Updating all graphics & video drivers. Doesnt work.

Game appears to be completely updated with Steam with version 1.9 visible in the dir.

UAC is disabled. Game is in admin mode.

Does. Not. Work.

Which is wierd because the game worked for me when I bought it a year ago on the same system, with the same specs.

Intel i5-2500k quad
4gig ram DDR 3
nvidia GTX 275
Windows 7 64 bit

Any suggestions?

What's the error? Going to assume you have DirectX 9 installed, since you said it worked awhile ago.

And where is your Steam directory at? Mine's at C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars and it runs normally, using Windows 7 64-bit, no compatibility mode or 'run as admin'.

Another thought: Have you tried verifying your install? (Right click the game in your library->Properties->Local Files->Verify)

If that does not do the trick, uninstalling, wiping all remaining files (back up saves) from both the install directory and your Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars directory, and reinstalling, might be a last resort.

Cheers mate, I worked it out. I went into the dir and ran the dx setup file. Only it didnt work until I rebooted! Duh!
