Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™

Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars™

Why is the C&C 3 campaign difficult?
I've tried Normal difficulty since the first GDI mission all the way to Sarajevo. I've noticed this campaign is much more difficult than when I played the game on Xbox 360 and I'm not sure why. I've even tried Easy difficulty for Sarajevo and I can't seem to not receive several punches to the face from this AI.

Did they change the way the AI receives resources? I've seen them constantly pull units out of their ass like it's nothing whilst never touching a single Tiberium field.

It's the patches that have made the SP unbalanced. Since patches aimed to make the multiplayer more balanced but ended up making the SP unbalanced.

You can revert back to version 1.00 from 1.09 by the method mentioned in this forum:
https://answers.ea.com/t5/C-C-The-Ultimate-Collection/Command-amp-Conquer-3-Playing-Old-Versions/td-p/5264656

I have done it. You need a copy of RetailEXE\1.0 folder (replace C3C3game.dat with a cracked version 1.0) and a copy of CNC3_english_1.0.SkuDef from the DVD install. I think the mistake people make is either not adding the extra files in the 1.0 folder with CnC3game.dat or using a mismatched version of the cracked CnC3game.dat

I have put the files in the same file structure they need to be copied into, (the 1.9 versions will be there so it will be obvious if you have put them in the correct place). Then right click on C&C3 in your steam library and click Properties, then under 'General Options' click 'Set Launch Options' and type -runver 1.0 (That's a one time thing).

The campaign didn't seem difficult until Sarajevo. Yeah, I don't think the AI needs to collect resources to produce units. But it's still doable, just difficult. If you take out the production structures then you'll slow the flow of units trying to kill you.

Yeah, that's the conclusion I've come to. The AI only produces units and repairs structures. I just think this is dumb because you're facing an opponent each mission that doesn't have to worry about resources.

Kind of sucks to have to personally go out of one's way to revert back to an older original patch of a game just to ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it. I assumed there would be no difference between the Steam and 360 version of this game, but nah.

By the way, what did they do exactly to "balance" the game?

The list of changes is in this page:
https://www.cnclabs.com/forums/cnc_postst4977_Tiberium-Wars-Patch-History---Latest-Patch--1-09.aspx

As whole they did those changes to make the multiplayer better.(Since according to some people here multiplayer in the early versions was just about "who builds a bigger scorpion tanks faster and rushes")

But, they made the SP unbalanced.

There was a double warfactory meta where people sold their mcvs to pump out more units and cheese people.

So if it was Nod vs GDI whoever sold their mcv would auto-win, and if it was scrin vs any matchup it was dev/corrupt rush killing everyone that didn't sell their mcv LOL.

Try to find 100% speedrun on YouTube and try doing exactly the same thing. This campaign is not that difficult as you think.

No.
We know hard mode becomes easy when you cheese the game (any/most games)

It is still possible to beat the campaign on hard difficulty even with the latest patched version.

Just think of it as an unintentional "very hard" setting where it says "hard"!
