[The Ultimate Collection] How to Re-Enable Mods Easily! (UPDATED)
To those of you who own The Ultimate Collection version of Tiberium Wars, Kane's Wrath, and Red Alert 3, I'm happy to present to you a guide on how to easily re-enable mod compatibility for your games!

For those of you who have been using my old guide on installing your mods, worry not; you no longer have to edit the game's SkuDef file over and over again when you're wanting to play a mod. In fact, this new method re-enables ALL command line functionality for your games, just as if you were using the Steam version or the OG disk version.

As a brief recap, Origin's exe's for all games in The Ultimate Collection have every bit of their command line functionality disabled (-ui, -win, -xres, -yres, etc.). Why they did this is beyond my knowledge.

However! A user by the name of Bibber created a set of "fixed" launchers that replaces the standard launchers with new ones that allow command line parameters to be accessible to the game. Sadly, as y'all may or may not know, Bibber has completely cut ties with the C&C community for reasons not going to be discussed here (by that, I mean I don't have much information on why he decided to pack up and leave). He took down his site late November 2019, which included ALL of his tools and patches, leaving CNCNZ.com the only trustworthy place to get them from.

At his request, CNCNZ.com removed the launchers from their site in January 2020. Luckily, I was able to grab a copy of them a couple of weeks before they removed them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: 8/4/20

Bibber miraculously has returned partially to the C&C scene and has fixed his site (for now); HOWEVER, I have made my own fixed launchers that aim to be better than Bibber's. The link for them will be included in Step 5. They have a lot more community patches and automatic fixes that I've compiled together so that they are a one-stop install to get your games running.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The instructions regarding the installation of these launchers are simple; but you REALLY need to pay attention to the steps listed below.

1) Open Origin, go into your Game Library, and access your game's Properties page by right clicking on its picture and selecting "Game Properties".

2) Disable/uncheck the box for the Origin In Game feature.

3) In that same window, click the "Cloud Saves" tab, and disable/uncheck the "Enable cloud saves" feature.

4) Select "Save", then close out of the Origin app.

5) Download an installer for the fixed launchers from ONE of the following links:

My *NEW* fixed launchers: https://github.com/Medstar117/CNC-Ultimate-Collection-Fixed-Launchers

Bibber's v1.21 launchers from his site: https://bibber.eu/downloads/cnc-ultimate-collection-launchers/

Bibber's v1.20 launchers from The Vault (aka, my archive): https://mega .nz/file/YMBF0SzB#bWfiZEF_5n6VC3P4IPxJEp4xKU9u9rq2MIeew5Nfirc

Due to Steam's filtering against MEGA links, you will have to remove the space between the "a" and the "." in the above link (thank you Steam for preventing piracy and all by blocking links to pirated copies of the game; but come on guys, why block the entire site?).

6) Simply run the exe inside the .zip file (feel free to read the README in there), and follow the promps; it will guide you through the entire process, and is pretty straightforward. It will automatically checkmark any games you already have installed--simply leave the ones check that you want to have patched, and uncheck the ones you want left alone.

7) Once the installer completes, you can close out of it; your games are now patched to use command line parameters again!

8) If you would like to remove these new launchers for any reason, just tell Origin to repair your game through its app.

That's all there is to it! The installer for these launchers also add in the missing registry keys needed for custom maps to be loaded; just a little neat thing this tool also does :steamhappy:

To view the game browser for mod loading, just make a shortcut to the actual game exe (NOT the launcher, but you can if you want as it can just pass the commands right to the game), and add in a space, then the -ui parameter AFTER the quotes in the Target field (or just after everything else in that field if there aren't any quotes).

After that, just run the game through the shortcut, and go to the Game Browser section in the window that pops up where you will see a "Mods" tab.

Hope this helps y'all out who have The Ultimate Collection as much as it has helped me!

If you've read this far, feel free to join ItzTeeJaay's server (aka the creator of Chemical Warfare and Uprising Reborn), as that is where I hang out most. You can also find some pretty cools tools there along with a link to access The Vault, which is a growing archive of everything C&C related plus some stuff for a few other games.

If you have any questions regarding the installers, I'll happily answer them here. Any questions regarding anything else related to C&C should be asked in the server.

In case you don't feel like joining the server, I'll leave a link to The Vault here; I don't think I should force people to join something in order to get some cool stuff (plus, I imagine someone's going to copy and share the link elsewhere to people; so why bother with the restriction?) I don't guarantee I'll come back and fix the link if it so happens to be changed in the future; however, the one in the server will always remain up to date.

Hello quick question. Will this work with Generals/Zero Hour as well? or just the games you listed.

Yup! The installer has fixed exe's for all of the C&C games in The Ultimate Collection. Generals and Zero Hour are selectable from the checkbox list in the installer :steamhappy:

Send me a PM on Discord; it sounds like you might not have your mods folder set up correctly. It would be better to see screenshots of your setup than trying to describe it here.

Hello, this is a great thing to see that help is being given to this old game.

But i have an issue whenever i install the 'Fixed Launchers' for CnC3 the games straight up refuse to load anything passed the initial screen of the launcher, this problem also occurs when trying to load the game directly. Now i don't know if it's me but the games load perfectly fine when the 'fixed launchers' aren't installed.

Hey there!
Just to make sure, you ARE using the version of the game from The Ultimate Collection, correct? NOT the standalone version on Origin?

I'm having the same problem, but I've tried renaming the folder and nothing happened. Any ideas?
