how to revert to old patches

how do you revert the game to the old patches in STEAM so that campains are actualy playable.

em. there is another work around,

you can mod the game and simply use the mod, that turns game back to version 1.0

Thank you for this - I never beat this game when I was younger, and I started playing the campaign and uh...wow lol. They really went ham on the nerf hammer to...basically everything, really.
