Pros: It's the old games but they look stunning.
Cons: New controls are trash, but the old ones still work flawlessly
Cons: a few bugs here & there nothing gamebreaking for me so far
The only annoying and negative thing is the camera for modern control systems, but you can get used to it after some time.
The only real change that still messes with my muscle memory is that they changed how sidestepping works to the TR3 controls across all three games. But you get the mid-air roll in TR1 now to make up for it.
It is worth it, i am playing mostly the Expansion Packs, as i replayed the first two before they announced the Remaster.
The Pros are clearly the very well handled new Graphics and the Games themself run very good.
Cons are the lack of Graphical Options Menu, Frame Pacing in the original Graphic Mode and that some Keys are hard to see.
But nothing Gamebreaking, it is very much Fun!
I want a Tomb Raider game, would pay 3x the price for this one but I would not pay 1/3 of the remaster price for TR 2013, that thing is not a Tomb Raider game and only one of the trilogy "really worth" some money is Shadow.
I completed the Tomb Raider 1 remastered version last night. Honestly, if I never play anything else in this collection, I'll still feel that I've gotten my money's worth. If you love the original games, this collection is a fantastic overhaul that stays faithful to the original level design and characters. Having controller support added to the PC version as a default plug-and-play option made this a joy to experience with my Logitech F310 gamepad.
I've played the original Tomb Raider (1996) on multiple platforms including Sega Saturn, Playstation, PC CD-ROM, and Steam. I've modded the Steam version with enhanced HD textures and QoL mods. This collection is the best looking and best playing version I've experienced, even with its few minor glitches like the paintings in some underwater areas. (I did not experience any bugs with sound or gates not opening.)
New Lara is not Lara, but the Model you use in certain SFM Videos. Reboot franchise is neither classic nor worth playing. I think i can say that without even playing the 2 sequels. I will play them someday BUT i will say the same. It is a different game franchise.
