Nah, it's not the vehicle controls that suck, it's the level geometry itself.
The quad bike section in River Ganges is even worse... Too narrow, too bumpy, too blocky, water and gaps literally everywhere. In the very very few sections where the level opens up a little and stop being so damn bumpy, ect. then it's actually okay(ish), or at least more tolerable...
I mean the boat part in venice for example is totally fine. Because the flat surface and the much wider areas.
Speaking of boat, lets not forget about kayak section in tomb raider 3. I still have nightmares about that... It's "funny" how they somehow managed to make the vehice sections in tomb raider 3 even worse.
