I definitely prefer Load being presented first, making it quicker to reload a save after a failed jump or such. Wouldn't want it to default save and then save over the last after a bad situation, lol!
Saving should be a deliberate act, and Loading should be quick & thoughtless.
F9 Load
I Guess they Could Update It But I DON'T WANT this REMASTER to Become Unstable & BROKEN this Game Was Coded A Specific Way Because Of the Limitations Of that time, REALIZE that
But it's fine, ill adapt :)
It's not a "You" problem, it's a "UI" problem. It breaks the number 1 rule of UI design: Assume the user is not paying attention and design around their muscle memory. Sounds insulting, but it isn't. Everyone gets distracted, and because of that all UI design should be built around limiting as much accidental user damage as possible. Or simply put: To do the damaging thing should take more effort than the decision the user wants.
In addition to the issue you've brought up, if you were to save in a level, then you progress to a next level, and if you haven't saved in this new level and die, then the first screen to open upon death will be on the load game screen instead of the restart level screen. User damage is very easy to do in this UI.
No matter what the order is you'll always find someone rightfully complaining.
