Save game Option needs change
When you want to save the game, the first option that comes up is Load game, instead of Save game.
For 2 times I've already loaded the game instead of saving, making me lose all my progress.

Edit: I know people who have played on PC before, know the shortcut (F5) for Saving or (F9) for Load, but for those who have played mainly on PS1, it makes more sence to have Save Game to be the first option, or atleast a prompt for both saying something like: "Do you wish to overwrite?" when saving or "Are you sure you want to Load?" when you want to load, unless you died, then it would'nt ask you, since its the only option available ATM.

F5 opens the save menu.

Make Save Game the first option, not Load Game.
I did that once last night myself: loading a game when I thought I was going to save it. Whoops, all my fault for not looking carefully and it won't be happening again!
I definitely prefer Load being presented first, making it quicker to reload a save after a failed jump or such. Wouldn't want it to default save and then save over the last after a bad situation, lol!
Saving should be a deliberate act, and Loading should be quick & thoughtless.

This Was the STANDARD for 27 Years :steamsalty:
I Guess they Could Update It But I DON'T WANT this REMASTER to Become Unstable & BROKEN this Game Was Coded A Specific Way Because Of the Limitations Of that time, REALIZE that

Yeah and If default was save you could softlock yourself by accident just before dying, so this is the better option. You'll get used to it

After reading your comments, i came to the conclusion that I'm the problem, and i just need to git gud. Sorry guys xD

It really sucks if you misclick, but it would suck 1000x worse if you saved when you wanted to load, softlocking your playthrough even possibly.
This game like all others will probably need an update however as for A Working VIABLE PRODUCT this game delivered think about games that are so messed up on Release Day that they're BARELY playable - Remember 2023 ??

I used to play this games back in Playstation, thats why i didnt knew the F5 F9 Shortcut, and im pretty sure that on TR 3,and on there was separate icons for each Save and Load (memory card icon or floppy disk, not sure now).
But it's fine, ill adapt :)

I think all it needs is a confirmation 'Are you sure you want to overwrite the SAVE in this slot? / Are you sure you want to LOAD this game? unsaved progress will be lost'

It's not a "You" problem, it's a "UI" problem. It breaks the number 1 rule of UI design: Assume the user is not paying attention and design around their muscle memory. Sounds insulting, but it isn't. Everyone gets distracted, and because of that all UI design should be built around limiting as much accidental user damage as possible. Or simply put: To do the damaging thing should take more effort than the decision the user wants.

In addition to the issue you've brought up, if you were to save in a level, then you progress to a next level, and if you haven't saved in this new level and die, then the first screen to open upon death will be on the load game screen instead of the restart level screen. User damage is very easy to do in this UI.

As it always has been. In TR5 I saved mid air 20cms away from getting impaled by spikes. Overwriting my only save, forcing me to replay half the game.
No matter what the order is you'll always find someone rightfully complaining.
