Anniversary isn't BAD, but it is a downgrade compared to the original TR (except for graphics, of course). And it is from that era when gamers needed handholding, so the game is more streamlined. And also QTE! I HATE QTEs.
Also this remaster is anything but "cheap cash grab". It replaces almost every texture (and MOST of them look great), all character models and even adds new effects like more realistic rain, snow falling through cracks, water puddles (with reflection), better lightning, etc.
This young generation should suffer like we older ones did around 2000. XD HAHAHAHAHAA
according to others, precisely for this reason. And because many have problems with the "new controls"
What are the differences between the various versions. I am lost with so many remakes and remasters.
Can you please explain what are the differences between the various versions. I am lost with so many remakes and remasters.
I liked anniversary and had fun with the reboot Trilogy, but the developers do not care, have you seen the new unified Lara design? She looks like Dude! CD doe's not care about you or Lara Croft at all.
Oh and by the way, Anniversary was a Remake, this is a Remaster. There is a little difference, if you expected a Remake it is not the fault of aspyr or the game.
As usual OP does not even have the game.
welcome to 1996
I think the remaster is almost perfect for us older players. We feel younger again and we can cope with the controls, as many of us had already played on PS1 and PC. (I probably speak for many). We don't even have problems with bugs in the game, because we already know them and love them. (by the way, we probably still know the games by heart so it's easier for us to play this)
For the younger players it's worse because the controls are not like many other games today and the new controls are actually very unfamiliar.
You also have to realise that the Tomb Raider of today and back then are completely different worlds.
You can understand both opinions, but these fronts will always form with such games
