Removing Trigger Warning - How To
- Open up your file explorer, go to your Steam Library (<Steam DIR>\steamapps\common\Tomb Raider I-III Remastered)
- Navigate to “1\TEXT\EN\” DIR
(Use whatever language is appropriate. EN is English obviously)
- Open “common.txt” in your favorite text editor
- Search for the keys/tag “DC_P1” & “DC_P2”. They’re towards the bottom of the file.
- You’ll see the trigger warning. Edit this to whatever the hell you want (EG - “Trigger warnings are for babies”)
- Save the file & enjoy the game

You’re welcome!

(This is probably a moot point as it only seems to show the first time you run it & doesn’t appear (in my case) after. YMMV)

Can't you just add -nolegal to the launch options?

No idea. Have not tried that, but, like I mentioned, I only saw it the one time, so it’s probably pointless to do anything other than skip past it & just start playing.

I'm very confused, my game doesn't have this trigger warning at all. It just shows a health safety warning and then the company logos before showing the title screen.

You might’ve skipped past it so fast you didn’t notice. Which would be ideal. Fortunately the intro screens are very responsive to button presses.

I "minimized" the whole bottom "warning, whining, and woke" section like so:

PS_H1=Red text,
PS_H2=is red.
PS_G1=Now for some white text.
PS_G2=Blah.
PS_H3=Blah blah.
PS_P1=Blah and blah.
PS_P2=Nothing but blah blah.
PS_P3=More blah blah.
PS_G3=Endless blah blah.
DC_P1=Go woke, go broke.
DC_P2=...Crystal Dynamics.
TI_P1=2024 Aspyr Media.
TI_P2=Tomb Raider (1996), Tomb Raider II (1997), and Tomb Raider III (1998).

and nuke the 40 page EULA down to:

-It was 39 more problems, but now it's just one.

👍 Like others have mentioned, I think it’s a bit of a moot point as it only seems to show the first run. But, FWIW…

One can imagine that if any of you actually see the trigger warning you might turn into gold like in that level of Tomb Raider 1...

Geez.

Sure, whatever…

This will be useful for identity politics obsessed right wingers who can't bear to see something this upsetting. Out of sight, out of mind. Poor guys.
Can a modder please exchange the insult from Crystal with the Core Design logo? :)

But it's doing its job, triggering you all.
The reason why CD put this into the game is because they knew it'd piss people off, like the inadequate marketing and the announcement of the unified Lara Croft on the remaster's release day, it's another attempt to sabotage the remasters' success and overshadow them with their own sub-par slop.

If you want them to cope seethe and mald, buy the game to show them like 4-year old me, they will never beat the classics.

Phase out and quickly hit ESC across the couple screens till you get to the main menu, we had to skip lots of screens back in the 1990s but at least they were nice to make it skippable.

I didn't know there were under 25 yr olds who were into Red Dwarf.

I'm not a fan of that woke stuff either, but whoever gets triggered so hard by this simple warning definitely has some other issues he should take care of.
