The reason for giving away remasters of classic games is that it encourages people to buy the classics, trusting they won't get to regret the decision later. Considering that most people likely buy these games for nostalgia, rather with an intent to play it soon after the purchase, this increases overall sales, *including of titles which won't get remasters*. And, while I will not opine on whether such a sentiment is valid, people who bought these three games over the course of last year might feel a bit ripped off, which creates bad blood.

This is very similar to sales: many people won't buy a game unless it's on sale, if only because being on sale makes them more visible in the store. Thus discounts even as low as 25% increase revenue many times over, providing they don't happen too often. If Aspyr doesn't give a larger discount to owners, I'll simply wait until they are on sale (and I happen to see the notification in time). It's not like I don't have a backlog of several hundred games, lol. Overall, it's still a net gain for Aspyr, as it gets the money now.

I think you should get the remastered for free if you own the original I no work went into for the remark,but when does it stop they will just keep on remastered all old games to make more money

the gaming industry has been stuck on remakes and remasters for the past decade. when has any game ever been free before if you own the original copy? people in this thread acting like the tomb raider remasters should redefine the industry's current pricing standards, what a joke.

luckily the devs are offering an incentive where if you turn in the upc from the original ps1 games (non-greatest hit versions only), you get a lara skin for fortnight.

For me, as someone who owns every Tomb Raider/Lara Croft game on Steam, it's worth the price for the following reasons:
- All unified in one executable (I assume)
- Native controller support (I HATE using 3rd party apps for controllers)
- Improved graphics and resolutions without having to use 3rd party tools like dgVoodoo, fan patches such as restoring the music cut from TR1 for no reason
- Finally a legal way to play the expansions that should've been included by default or for purchase separately as DLC
- Achievements which will encourage me to actually find all the secrets
- Supporting Classic Lara again after being subjected to "JONAH!!!! REYES!!!! I ****HAVE**** TO DO THIS!!!!" *falls down crumbling structure for the 7th time in 2 minutes* for the past 10 years

It does appear to be unified. I've pre-ordered it and it sits in my library as "Tomb Raider I-III Remastered". Its possible this changes, as we have just over a month to go, but I'm betting once you launch it you'll get a screen giving you a choice of which game / expansion to play.

The problem with this new version so CALLED REMASTERED is just name in the title

let's be honest for a minute:

These GAMES are not Properly REMASTERED just Polished to work natively in current PCs configs & Consoles and adapted with current gen controllers and it support more languages and add subtitles ( those are bugged in cutscenes sometimes they dont appear)

Graphics are just upgraded to PS2 Angel of Darkness LEVEL with less Aliasing and 60 FPS for modern mode only, Classic MODE has 30 FPS CAPPED WTF ??? Even now LAU Trilogy looks a lot better than this 1 2 3 SCAMASTERED GAMES.

CutScenes are not remastered just upscaled for screens 16/9 instead of 4:3 Ratio.

Dialogues not corrected in some scenes too many words missing and sentences dont make any sense, still use old voicelines and uncorrected script and there is no Audio remasterisation at all just minors adjustements and they added moving lips they characters talk and no triangle faces anymore that's all.

Using weapons in modern way like in TR legend trilogy to switch between them with Directionnal buttons is NOT Possible, you have to press buttons of inventory menu and select them manually like Super Nintendo Games ZELDA A LiNK TO THE PAST WTF ???? so quick switch guns is not available (yet ??)

sorry this fake remaster is a total SCAM for me, i own original games i should have the update to the current version for FREE not for extra charge 11$.

A REAL REMASTER of alsmost 30 years old PSOne games have to be remade like Tony hawks Pro SKATER 1+2 & Crash Bandicoot Trilogy or Spyro Trilogy with current gen graphics to deserve REMASTER Title, a perfect example must be like Fan Tomb Raider 2 The DAGGER of XiAN Made by NicoBASS
