Just do the swan dive as usual, and then hold roll. She'll keep doing somersaults until she hits the ground/surface of the water.
Oh, and this move isn't in TR1, only TR2 and 3.
Are you maybe rushing the inputs? If you press and hold roll immediately after initiating the swan dive, it's possible that you're cancelling out of it. Take it slower, and it should work.
The swan dive is a pretty drawn-out animation, and she won't start doing the somersaults until it is finished anyway so you have a pretty big window. Try holding down Roll at the apex of the dive, when she's spreading her arms, that should do the trick.
I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. It wasn't working at all. I tried everything, then I went back to the control settings and messed with that again. It started working after that, and using what you said about waiting then hitting roll. I had done that before and it didn't work, strange. Thank you so much for the help. I hope it still works when I go back to the game.
I like tank controls better, the controller doesn't seem to work well for me.. Specially turning around and stuff, just seems clunky with controller.
I can't seem to make her go out far enough to hit the water.
happens to me sometimes too
maybe the height is not enough to make her turn

I am using mouse and keyboard. I always use them on these games. TR 123456
Misread your earlier reply, my bad.
Still, if you have access to a controller the test I mentioned could help narrow down the source of this involuntary roll problem. Alternatively you could load up that "auto-roll" save you mentioned, unplug your keyboard and see if that stops it.
If it does, try reinstalling your keyboard driver, or checking your keyboard for mechanical issues like stuck keys or dirt interfering with the inner workings. If not, verify the game files through Steam - if there's anything corrupted in the game data itself, Steam will redownload the affected files. (That might break any mods you have installed, though).
By the way, do you have this roll issue when you start a new game or the tutorial level, too?
