Can't reach ledge for 2nd secret in TR1

Same. I tried it like 5 minutes and then moved on.

It's still possible but it seems you need to use Tank Controls to get this one and play the game the way god intended.

I play on Tank as new controls are awful.
Also flipped to the original graphics but still no joy.

I did it with modern controls. Just stand beside the left wall and step away from it one step. Press space and left mouse button. She climbs after several tries.

you gotta interact+jump, not jump+interact, and hope that she eventually catches on the ledge

I just pressed interact + forward while standing on the left corner and it worked, just as I remember doing in the original.

As Ninj@ said, you have to interact + forward like in the original game and it works like a charm. There's some platforms you can't reach with jump + interact, but you can with interact + forward :)

There's a vert poorly explained "Secondary" button in the Modern control scheme that combines Jump and Action into one, if you hold this it should work.

dont use jump...just press INTERACT (small or huge we get the Jump) .

Just press forward+action, do not jump. It's always been that way

Instead of jumping and grabbing the ledge, just press the button for action/jump along with up so she automatically grabs that ledge. As Zaga said, it's always been that way since game's original release.

I had the opposite experience. I took one side step from the corner and jumped to the ledge on the first try. I thought I remembered having to try a bunch of times in the original.

I didn't do any changes to the controls. Using ps4 controller. I can use the control pad to move(I use this around ledges sometimes), or the joy stick if I'm just cruising around.

I did it with tank controls,
Take a step back from the ledge jump forward and press action as if doing a really long jump once she lands jump to grab the ledge normally worked for me

i have so much trouble doing it... but its so simple... i did it with tank control on, stand in the corner and moved one step with slow movement back. then i pressed "forward+action" and she jumped and grabbed the ledge :)
