Torn between rewarding Aspyr and punishing CD
From the outside it looks like the games have been remastered in a good way and not really changed in terms of content in a negative way which in my opinion deserves praise and should be rewarded accordingly.

On the other hand CD clearly hates the first three games, their devs and the players who originally became fans of the series. So giving money to them feels wrong.

So I'm torn between buy and no buy...

Buy it. The game itself is great and faithfully remastered and you should 100% let them know that this is what you want.

rewarding Aspyr for what? AI upscaling videos and textures? not even making the modern controls playable and on top of that not even testing them?
I'm a pr tr player can't even past first jump in tr two, then the tiger killed me lol. I beat this level 300 times. I'm happy with graphics though, but no visual settings is silly, why did I buy pc version then? I would havve 4k 60 on my Ps5 lol. But, at least it was 20%, that was a good sign for things to come. Might return it if I can on a prepaid credit card, not sure if that works.

Modern controls work so great! It functions really well without breaking the game fundamentals. You still can do anything with it, it is just different and takes time getting used to. After a coupel of hours I'm understanding why Aspyr decided to make them as they are and it was carefully tought. The only problem is that the camera goes crazy and does not respond well in tight areas.

Personally I don't care what some clown PR bozo's put on the skippable notification label as long as the game remains unchanged. It's a good remaster.
Ugh thinking about refunding but I want to support Aspyr and hurt Crystal Dynamics.
You don't reward Aspyr, you reward "SABER interactive" those were the guys stemming the majority of the work. The unsung heroes.

“People are so easily triggered” - people triggered by a short disclaimer that doesn’t change the content of their product whatsoever.

I had somewhat similar thoughts as well that when people don't buy it they will look at it like people don't want the remasters but only full "modernized remakes".

Some of those can be really great (looking at you Resident Evil 2 and 4) but there can also be those that are a really poor representation of the original (for example "Master of Orion").

Anyway thanks for the responses.

If buy the game, you'll do both.

The reason why CD put this into the game is because they knew it'd piss people off, like the inadequate marketing and the announcement of the unified Lara Croft on the remaster's release day, it's another attempt to sabotage the remasters' success and overshadow them with their own sub-par slop. They don't want this to succeed and they resent that it exists.

If you want them to cope seethe and mald, buy the game to show them that like 4-year old me, they will never beat the classics.
