Guide: How to change outfits!

so i've seen people unhappy about the remasters not having outfit select (outside of photo mode) and i agree, it would make sense to have it, BUT fear not! you can still change outfits, here is how!

Navigate to your installation location and then open the "1" folder, and then the "ITEM" folder, inside this folder scroll down to find the "OUTFIT" files, these control the outfit that Lara is wearing, and you can change them how you like.
so for example if you are playing TR1 and want to replace the classic TR1 outfit with the Scuba suit simply delete "OUTFIT_TR1_CLASSIC" and then copy+paste "OUTFIT_TR2_SWIM" and rename the new copy to "OUTFIT_TR1_CLASSIC", congratulations! when you load up the game the classic outfit will now be replaced with the Scuba suit!

(i'd recommend that you make a back up copy of the whole "ITEM" folder before changing things, just incase you mess up or want to reset everything back to normal)

So much trouble for something that should've been easily doable in-game... I still don't understand why they left that outside the game.
And console players are also screwed.
Thanks for the info though. At least there's that workaround.
Still hoping for a better/easier way of doing this with the helps of mods.

Thank you very much, I was disappointed that we couldn't choose outfits but it's a good alternative

I mean it could have been as easy as this type of feature was outside the scope of what was funded. It easily could have absolutely nothing to do with laziness.

also if you delete the "HOLSTER" weapons (like HOLSTER_SHOTGUN") it will stop them from showing when holstered, quite handy if you want to play with the nightgown (OUTFIT_TR2_HOME) and don't want floating weapons on your back/hip :P
