Changing the language of the game?

Hi all!

Super excited to get into the remastered trilogy and I've been waiting for years for something like this!!

Just started up the game on my steam deck and it's all in Japanese, which is fine because I got it on the Japanese steam store, but I prefer the original voice acting as it's way more nostalgic.

I went to the properties menu in Steam to try changing the language there to English, but it remains in Japanese after starting the game again?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for how I could force it to use English or even just change the voices?

I'm not sure if there's an in game settings menu with more than just the controller options that I've missed, sorry if it's a silly question!

Hi again!

I found a temporary fix (not super happy with it) but if you're in a pinch it might be good to know!

If you go into the games folder and into 1/2/3 you'll find both a TEXT and TRACKS folder that you'll need to adjust. (You need to do it for each folder)

For me, I renamed the JA folders (Japanese) to EN and vice versa. Now upon restarting the game the voices and text are in English!

I'm hoping this can be changed an easier way and I've just overlooked it, as changing the files like this feels a bit weird.

mine is already translated. Try right click on game > properties > language > choose language

that's not work for me... And I've changed interface of steam and Download region - game still in Russian

Hi! So I did actually try this already, as I mentioned in the main post, but it doesn't work.

I also tried changing the language on my steam deck for the whole system which also didn't make any difference.

Just discovered - that you can change language in Sound parameters in the game :D
