Worth it for OG owners?

Is this game worth it. I own the originals on Steam. Is it worth the upgrade. I have not played the OG Tomb Raider games in a long time.

Something being worth it depends on you, for me it was worth it, i had the originals on ps1, bought them again on disc when i got my PCand bought them again on steam a while back as I don't have an optical drive anymore and now I own this trilogy to sit along side every other Tomb Raider game on pc.

same here, no optical drive, have the orignal tomb raider on disc for pc, have all the tomb raiders on steam, this is just to add to my collection and to enjoy the game with updated graphics.

So far I've only played the TR1 and TR2 training levels, but I really like the enhanced environments and the smoothness of motion. The modern controls are disappointing though, but the classic 'tank' controls work about the same with keyboard as you remember. I'm playing with a gamepad (supported now by default), and the tank control scheme works okay with it as long as I don't move my right thumb stick to rotate the view while Lara is in motion. Shadow areas are darker than on PC.

Overall I'm not disappointed. It's going to be fun discovering how Aspyr updated each level.

if you dont want to fumble around with dosbox every time you start the old games on steam then go for it way better then the old releases!

I tried playing the OG games on my Steam Deck and they don't run very well. The TR1 would freeze after the first cut scene making it basically unplayable. I also saw that the Remaster Collection is 20% off at the moment, which works out to be about $12 USD were I live, so I'll just buy the TR 1-3 Remaster. Plus, I have the option of Cloud Saves, which is not available on the OG versions. Also, If I don't like TR 1-3 Remastered, I can also request a refund.

This remaster includes a new model for Lara which looks great. Also, has some better looking effects like water and fog. And they added some nice looking effects in some places, like snow falling in places where no snow falls in the originals.

Other than that, nothing much.

I bought it mostly because it works out of the box on Windows 11, while the originals have some issues (well, mostly 2 and 3. 1 works fine, but it is a Dos game and has those crappy looking colors).

Only if you want better graphic and like some of the QOL improvements.

Modern controls are pretty badly executed though.
