Report a translation problem
Edit: Boy do I eat some crow over this comment.
Then maybe that's better than having it pop the WRONG achievements. Like the STEAM version does... ;)
Maybe that's why they are disabled on the other platforms - because they despereately need fixing.
There's no wrong achievements on Steam. It's just an issue with the achievements names/descriptions being misplaced in some languages. The achievements you get, and the pictures, are the correct ones, if you have Steam set on English language you'll see they're the correct ones. Those achievements don't need fixing, the translated texts just need to be relocated so they match their correct achievement.
Steam users dont give a f*ck about EGS
Hmmm, changing something to make it work to me sounds a lot like "fixing" it... ;)
woops, did I say that?

What the actual eff?
OMG... that Francis' Folly ceiling looks great!
You missed the point, that those achievements do work. That's not a problem within the game, it's not something the developers need to fix. It's an issue with the names/descriptions of some achievements being swapped in some languages.
So if you do 'achievement 40', you get 'achievement 40'. You may just think you're getting 'achievement 41' because the texts on Steam are swapped in some languages. If you set Steam to English language, you can confirm you have the correct achievements, and you can also tell if the thumbnail makes sense with what you've done.
I totally got your point. And it does not matter. Whether it is really wrong unlocking achievements or "just" messed up translations. Some things in this game do not work as intended. And yes, the developpers need to fix that. Who else should there be to fix it? Modders? Or does a proper translation not matter anymore for a game that is sold worldwide and is advertised to have 20+ build in language options???
Seriously... :)
P.S.: Not sure how achievements are technically implemented. Fact is: once they popped they are rather permanent - and who knows, maybe those wrong translations are stored in your profile and will stay wrong even after the issues is fixed in the game and for new acquired achievements? Tell me that's nonsense... Anyway I can understand non-englich speakers beeing worried when their acheivements are messed up.
They are not permanent, they are quite easily deleted in various ways.
Also translations are not "stored", the only thing that is wrong is the literal translation, nothing else, all it takes is the devs to re-write the descriptions and it will affect everyone, regardless of if they have it unlocked or not.
Well, whatever you say. Maybe manipulating achievements is easy on STEAM, but I guess there are other platforms that consoder it cheating and actively prohibit and sanction it.
Still does not change the fact, that achievements for this release are not working perfectly even on STEAM. And GOG and EGS (oviously deliberatly so) keep them inactive for now. That's also a fact, althogh the EGS version is a higher built than the STEAM one. There might be reasons for those facts. They might be connected. That's all I am saying.
I have exactly the same problem. I contacted EPIC technical support twice. I was advised twice to delete the launcher cache from the AppData folder. Then I was advised to wait 3 days, since registering achievements in EPIC is very strange and long (completely absurd). In the end, I was advised to contact the support of the game publisher. Why did I buy the game from EPIC (this was my last purchase from this distributor)? Because there the price of the game was 30% cheaper. What's the result? That's right, I bought a second copy of the game on Steam.
